As Carrie tries to hide from Big in the wake of ending her relationship with him, Charlotte and Samantha deal with boyfriend problems of their own.

Episode 2. the awful truth (Air Date: 06/13/1999)

Overcoming her inhibitions, Miranda starts talking dirty to her boyfriend. Samantha regretfully informs her latest lover of his inability to satisfy her. Meanwhile, tired of dealing with men, Charlotte seeks meaningful companionship from a puppy instead.

Episode 3. the freak show (Air Date: 06/20/1999)

As Miranda swears off dating altogether, Carrie botches any chance of building a relationship with Ben. Meanwhile, Samantha learns the man she's seeing likes to wear a dog collar.


Samantha goes out with a club owner while Miranda dabbles takes a walk on the wild side by trying Ecstasy. Meanwhile, Carrie luxuriates in her singlehood.

Episode 5. four women and a funeral (Air Date: 07/04/1999)

As Miranda suffers from mysterious panic attacks and Samantha finds herself blacklisted from her social circle, Carrie reconciles with Big and Charlotte picks up a man at a funeral.

Episode 6. the cheating curve (Air Date: 07/11/1999)

When she catches her boyfriend cheating, a fed-up Charlotte starts getting chummy with a clique of upper-crust lesbians; Miranda goes out with a guy who's addicted to porn and Samantha learns something surprising about her hot personal trainer. Meanwhile, Carrie and Big continue to rebuild their relationship.

Episode 7. the chicken dance (Air Date: 07/18/1999)

Miranda's a little put out when the great guy she just met falls for her decorator. Later, when the ladies attend a wedding, Miranda feels invisible, Charlotte meets a nearly perfect mate, and Carrie stresses that Big's lackadaisical attitude means he's not committed to their relationship.


While Samantha dates a septuagenarian worth millions, a cynical Miranda has trouble accepting that the one-night stand she spent with a charming, funny bartender could actually lead to something special.

Episode 9. old dogs, new dicks (Air Date: 08/01/1999)

Samantha's vexed to find an old boyfriend has become a drag queen. Meanwhile, Charlotte isn't sure what to do with her uncircumcised date and Carrie sets out to break Big's habit of ogling other women.

Episode 10. the caste system (Air Date: 08/08/1999)

Samantha goes out with a rich guy while Miranda breaks it off with her boyfriend and Charlotte starts living fast.

Episode 11. evolution (Air Date: 08/15/1999)

While Charlotte has reason to question the sexual preference of her latest conquest, Carrie tries to leave a few things at Big's as proof that she's becoming a part of his life.

Episode 12. la douleur exquise! (Air Date: 08/22/1999)

Miranda dates a guy who likes to have sex in public places. A distressed Carrie is forced to truly examine what role she plays in Big's life when she learns he'll be moving to Paris.

Episode 13. the fuck buddy (Air Date: 09/05/1999)

While Carrie takes a chance on dating the guy who's her standing booty call and a busy Charlotte schedules two dates for the same night, Miranda goes out with a potty mouth and Samantha gets turned on listening to the couple next door.

Episode 14. shortcomings (Air Date: 09/12/1999)

Miranda goes out with a divorced dad while Carrie dates a fellow writer. Also, Charlotte's disturbed to find out her brother and Samantha have become lovers.

Episode 15. was it good for you? (Air Date: 09/19/1999)

Miranda luxuriates in her new sheets and Charlotte's frustrated when her latest lover keeps nodding off during sex. Meanwhile, the recovering alcoholic Carrie's seeing gets addicted to her and Samantha's three-way goes south when it turns out her two partners are more interested in each other than with her.


What with Charlotte pretending to be 27 to keep the attention of a younger man and Samantha feeling displaced by her ballsy, ambitious assistant, the ladies' stay at a Hamptons timeshare is marked by the unavoidable observation of the differences between themselves and their 20-something counterparts - culminating in Carrie's devastating discovery that Big is back from Paris and now dating a woman younger than she.

Episode 17. games people play (Air Date: 08/29/2003)

While Miranda gets into voyeurism and Charlotte joins a bridge club, Carrie starts seeing a shrink to help her get over Mr. Big and meets an attractive guy.

Episode 18. ex and the city (Air Date: 10/03/2003)

As Charlotte rediscovers her childhood love of horses, Samantha finds herself with a guy who's more man than even she can handle. Meanwhile, though Miranda reconciles with Steve and they become something halfway between friends and lovers, once Carrie finds out Big's engaged, she wonders if the two of them can move on and still be friends.
