The third season begins in tragedy following the prom-night shooting. After a tense summer apart, the students gather for another school year as they reflect on what happened and how it has changed them all. Later, Ashley gets a windfall and looks to change her life, but it might cost her Spencer's friendship.

Just as Glen is about to act on his feelings for Chelsea, Sean returns to town, ready to make his move on her as well. Elsewhere, Ashley refuses to forgive Kyla and is ready to write her out of her life.
Spencer has to make a decision about college that could affect her relationship with Ashley. Meanwhile, Chelsea has to decide what guy's right for her, and Aiden must choose his next path in life.
After a second close call with death, Aiden thinks he's invincible and tries to prove it. Meanwhile, Spencer and Chelsea each try to share some important news with others, but they keep getting interrupted.
In the series finale, Chelsea contemplates moving to Paris and Aiden and Kyla wonder how to proceed with their seemingly perfect relationship. Meanwhile, as Spencer decides whether to go away for college, she's unsure if Ashley even wants her around.
