The contestants arrive at the Mayan ruins where they are quickly separated into the Yaxha and Nakum tribes. They are challenged to hike eleven miles through the jungle to their campsites. With the Nakum tribe battling fatigue and illness, the Yaxha tribe wins immunity. Jim Lynch is the first contestant voted out of the competition.
Lydia gains allies when her fishing skills land her teammates food. The Nakum tribe wins fishing gear at the reward challenge. Judd gets annoyed by Blake's laziness. Danni reveals that Gary was once a NFL quarterback. When the Yaxha tribe loses immunity, Morgan McDevitt is sent home.
The Nakum tribe wins the reward challenge and gets a bundle of blankets among other small treasures. Margaret's assuming of the leadership role irks Judd. The Yaxha tribe loses its fourth straight immunity challenge, so Brianna Varela is sent home.
The reward challenge results in a shifting of teammates from each tribe. This throws old alliances out, forcing people to test their new loyalties. The Yaxha tribe wins the immunity challenge. Brooke Struck is eliminated from the competition.
Brandon manages to lose the reward challenge for his entire team, allowing the Yaxha tribe to swim in the ocean in a crocodile-proof deck. While on the reward, the team grows weary of Blake Towsley's arrogance, so after losing the immunity challenge the team sends him home.
The tribes are told that two people will be voted out and one person will be able to get individual immunity. Rafe wins the individual immunity with unintended help from Judd. The two tribes vote, sending Margaret Bobonich and Brian Corridan home.
The Yaxha tribe wins the reward challenge of a zipline tour through the jungle and some chocolate. Jamie gets upset when the two tribes call a truce to celebrate Danni's birthday. Nakum wins the immunity challenge. Being their weakest member of the Yaxha tribe, Amy O'Hara is sent home.
The two tribes merge into one, with instant fireworks between Jamie and Bobby Jon. The former Nakum members annoy their new tribemates with their laziness the next morning. Gary wins the immunity challenge, so Brandon Bellinger is eliminated from the game.
A reward challenge determines the food the contestants will eat, with Judd winning the most delicious meal. Jamie manages to win immunity at the last minute. Gary uses the hidden immunity doll he found, so his luck turns into Bobby Jon Drinkard's bad luck when the latter is eliminated.
Jamie annoys his current allies enough to test their loyalty. Gary, Danni, Stephenie, and Judd win a night at a mansion filled with luxuries. Rafe wins the immunity challenge, so Jamie Newton is voted out of the game.
Judd starts to worry about his standing with others now that Jamie is gone. Cindy wins the reward challenge of a picnic and invited Rafe to join her. Rafe manages to once again win immunity. Gary Hogeboom is eliminated from the game.
The contestants get to choose items during an auction, with Danni bidding on help with the next immunity challenge. Judd gets the reward of time with his wife, which upsets Danni, Lydia, and Rafe. Danni wins the immunity challenge with her win from the auction. Judd Sergeant is voted out.
Cindy wins a car during a reward challenge, but is then faced with the decision of keeping the car and losing the game, or giving up the car and giving each of the other four remaining contestants a car. As a result of her keeping the car, Cindy Hall is eliminated from the competition.
Stephenie, Lydia, and Danni bring bad luck on themselves after eating a ritually killed chicken. Rafe wins the immunity challenge, sending Lydia Morales home. At the next immunity challenge, Danni wins and sides with Stephenie against Rafe, so Rafe Judkins is sent home. With only two contestants left, the jury votes to give the title of "Survivor" to Danni Boatwright over Stephenie LaGrossa.
