Ellenor hires Alan Shore, an anti-trust lawyer who was fired from his firm for embezzling. Also, the firm defends a man who is accused of murdering his pregnant wife, and Eugene and Jimmy defend a woman who killed a drug dealer.

Alan defends a friend, a fellow attorney who was fired from her law firm because she claimed that God spoke to her. Meanwhile, the case of Brad Stanfield continues.

Sheila Carlisle, who was hired without the firm's approval, takes on a case. Also, Ellenor is in a moral dilemma because of her client.
