Episode 1. Place of Life (Air Date: NA)

A team of Pittsburgh surgeons perform organ transplants and deal with the emotionally complex lives of the recipients. In the opener, a pregnant woman suffers a heart attack and is told she must undergo a heart transplant in order to save her life and the life of her unborn child.


An 18-year-old college student needs a double-lung transplant but learns she may not be eligible for the operation.


Andy persuades an organ network to give a former drug addict a new heart, but the patient disappears just before the surgery is to take place.

Episode 4. Code Green (Air Date: NA)

A bus carrying a high-school football team crashes, and Andy's group rushes to save lives. The parents of one boy must make the difficult decision of whether to donate his organs.

Episode 5. Alone Together (Air Date: NA)

Andy attempts a risky procedure on his wife's police partner after he collapses during a drug bust. The surgery is complicated because the man suffers from an aortic aneurysm.

Episode 6. Where We Lie (Air Date: NA)

An 8-year-old boy is crushed by a ride at a fair, and Lisa becomes very attached to him in the hospital since she witnessed the accident. Meanwhile, Andy and David attempt to obtain a ventricular-assist device for a patient whose heart is failing.


A car-crash victim (Mandy Patinkin) dying from a progressive neurodegenerative disease requests to be taken off of life support so his organs can be donated. Meanwhile, David cares for a foster parent with pulmonary hypertension who refuses to be admitted to the hospital.


A billionaire's wife needs a liver transplant, but a setback causes her to miss out on a new liver, so her husband buys one on the black market. Meanwhile, a friend from Andy's past unexpectedly shows up.


Andy cares for a man in need of a kidney transplant and searches for a suitable donor, and he suspects a recent heart-transplant patient is rejecting his new heart.


A female firefighter must decide if she should donate part of her lung to her captain, who mistreats her. Meanwhile, Andy's uncle shows up with a stab wound and asks Andy not to report the incident because he fears it will violate his parole.
