Tru starts medical school even as her father moves to town and offers Harrison a job. Jack returns to her life, countering her efforts to save a harbor patrol officer. Davis meets with the new psychiatrist on staff, Dr. Carrie Allen, and immediately fails his psychiatric evaluation.
When a psychologist is fated to die at the hands of an unstable patient, Tru steps in but then, because of Jack's intervention, is accused of the crime. Her only way out is for her day to restart... again, but that requires another person to save.
Tru's morgue-based surprise birthday has a real surprise when the lights go out, an unknown person asks for her help and her day rewinds. Tru has to discern the victim in order to save the party guest's life.
The shoe is on the other foot when a dead woman turns to Jack for help and he has a hard time deciding whether he should or shouldn't help her. Things get more confused when Tru sees how he gets all his information about the relived days. It turns out the girl is dying from leukemia and wants to ensure that her sister will be taken care of by her insurance.
When Jensen dies over the course of a day and doesn't ask for Tru's help, she seeks out another way to rewind her day. Jack tells her that her actions will have consequences. She finds a prisoner escapee who wants to be saved. Tru assigns Harrison the life of the escapee while she keeps tabs on Jensen. Jack tries to foil her plan, but is unsuccessful.
