Episode 1. Pilot (Air Date: 09/09/2003)

Mavis Rae, a former one hit wonder who lives on charm, wit and a bit of larceny and now owns and operates a run down hotel with her recently unemployed brother. Mavis seeing the need for a concierge, promotes from within and gives the hotel's handyman Nasim the job.

Episode 2. Don't Hide Your Bag (Air Date: 09/16/2003)

When the country goes up to orange alert, a briefcase left in the hotel becomes the focal point of terrorist paranoia and leaves Mavis with the task of replacing her brother's "missing" briefcase.

Episode 3. Once Bitten (Air Date: 09/23/2003)

Mavis goes to the ER when she gets bit by Mavis's ferret. Nasim tries to wrestle control of the front desk in her absence.

Episode 4. Shout (Air Date: 09/30/2003)

Mavis and Nasim are struck down by the man, receiving tickets for public smoking and spitting respectively. Courtney contends with a tricky ATM machine.

Episode 5. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes (Air Date: 10/07/2003)

Mavis uses a blind man's infatuation with her to get some prime New York Rangers' seats.


When Bush stops to use the Lamont Hotel's facilities, he recognizes Mavis, compliments her and invites her to a Republican event.


Mavis' mourning over the death of one of her musical partners is interrupted by jealousy when the other living member of the trio arrives. Rita is also jealous to find out that Florence and Courtney shared a fling in the past.

Episode 8. Rita Plays Poker (Air Date: 10/28/2003)

Rita joins Mavis' poker night for the ladies which causes friction in her relationship with Courtney. Courtney is devastated by the end of their relationship and Mavis tries to reunite the two with the help of Nasim.

Episode 9. Sticky Fingers (Air Date: 11/11/2003)

Mavis is accused of shoplifting and gets testimonials from both Phil Collins and Keith Richards on a televised special. Her friends are quoted out-of-context.

Episode 10. Mother's Little Helper (Air Date: 11/18/2003)

Mavis finds her mother easy to deal with because of a new prescription drug, but when the pills are lost, her mother returns to form -- mean and critical.

Episode 11. The Fat and The Frivolous (Air Date: 12/09/2003)

A big customer sues Mavis for a faulty bed and Courtney tries to come to her legal rescue, but starts to falter against the customer's big-time attorney.

Episode 12. American Woman (Air Date: 01/06/2004)

Whoopi fields complaints against an elderly couple when other tenants accuse them of smoking pot. Whoopi's investigation reveals they are medically prescribed the marijuana as a painkiller. Nasim studies hard for his citizenship test.

Episode 13. Airplane! (Air Date: 01/13/2004)

Mavis bawks at joining her friends on a Bahamas trip because of her fear of flying. Rita signs Mavis up for training to overcome her phobia and the stress of the training allows the women to reveal brutal honesty about and to each other.

Episode 14. Is Rita Pregnant? (Air Date: 02/03/2004)

Rita's pregnancy scare leads to an impromptu proposal from Courtney, much to Mavis's dismay. Nasim and Jadwiga take a roadtrip to try their luck at Powerball.

Episode 15. The Last Dance (Air Date: 02/24/2004)

Whoopi's old choreographer comes to the hotel and Whoopi hopes to breakthrough his current religious beliefs and continue their past fling.

Episode 16. No Sex in the City (Air Date: 03/02/2004)

Mavis and friends celebrate Soo Lin's bachelorette party during a wild night on the town. Nasim gets a job offer when he's mistaken as a bodyguard.

Episode 17. What Child Is This? (Air Date: 03/16/2004)

Mavis tries to put up with a young Republican terror of a child to ensure that Courtney secures a job with his father.

Episode 18. Don't Hide Love (Air Date: 03/23/2004)

Mavis's cousin asks to throw her gay wedding at the hotel on the same night that Courtney has a Republican mixer.

Episode 19. The Squatter (Air Date: 03/30/2004)

Mavis' problems with an old, rent-control tenant don't end when she tricks her into a retirement home and the woman's granddaughter takes over and starts to party all the time.

Episode 20. Identity Crisis (Air Date: 04/06/2004)

Mavis thinks an acquaintance of Rita's is behind the theft of her identity, rendering all her credit cards invalid. Her friends try to throw her some wins at their poker game.

Episode 21. Strange Bedfellows (Air Date: 04/13/2004)

Courtney's boss takes Rita with him to Florida and leaves Courtney behind to wonder what exactly is giong on during the trip. Nasim's blind date has a tough time with Jadwiga.

Episode 22. Sins of the Sister (Air Date: 04/20/2004)

Courtney's opposition for assemblyman tries to slur both Courtney and Mavis. Nasim and Jadwiga find themselves caught in a growing attraction to each other.
