  • Late Night Last Night: Jay Leno Moves to Daytime Soaps?
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 03, 2013
While NBC has yet to officially comment on the rumors that they are planning to replace Jay Leno with Jimmy Fallon as the host of The Tonight Show, Leno hasn't been sitting around waiting for the big decision to be made. After a few weeks of verbally jabbing at the network during his opening monologues, Leno finally put down his sword and saddled up with Fallon to perform a comedic song about the rumors on Monday. But just because he's facing the facts doesn't mean he's giving up if NBC does decide to give him the boot. And his next move may happen to surprise you. RELATED: Fallon and Leno Duet About 'Tonight' Rumors During Tuesday night's episode of The Tonight Show, Leno gave soap operas a try by performing in a Days of Our Lives skit. Needless to say, it was a hit — literally, and metaphorically (you'll see). Could soap operas be Leno's next move? Would you tune in to see Leno in one of these daytime dramas? • 'Buckwild' Star Shain Gandee Likely Died from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 02, 2013
Fans of MTV's reality show Buckwild had to deal with a much harsher reality this week when star Shain Gandee was found dead in his in his car on Monday. Just 24 hours after Gandee's body was discovered — along with those of two of his relatives (David and Robert) — officials from Kanawha County, W.V. and family members say the men passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning. "Foul play has been ruled out," Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper tells People. "Carbon monoxide poisoning is the likely probable cause of death, pending official results from the state of West Virginia medical examiner's office. State law requires an autopsy." According to a Kanawha County Sherrif Department press release sent to Hollywood.com, Shain's Bronco was "partially submerged in deep mud" and the "muffler of the vehicle was completely below the surface of the mud." RELATED: 'Buckwild' Star Shain Gandee Found Dead Gandee was reported missing on Saturday after he was believed to have gone "mudding," or off-roading. Gandee's cousin Ashley Gandee Lewis is updating fans on the Gandee's General Store Facebook page. "I just wanted to let everyone know that the family feels that Shain died peacefully in his sleep without pain or suffering," she writes. "That it probably was carbon monoxide. They are making arrangement now for his funeral. Nothing is confirmed but they are thinking Saturday. So private or public hasnt been decided I will try to keep everyone updated." State Commissioner Kent Carper says the accident will have a lasting effect on Gandee's West Virginia town. "This is a very sad and tragic event," Carper says in a statement sent to Hollywood.com. "We live in a very small community and this tragedy will affect many lives in Kanawha County. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gandee family. The full details will be released later by the Kanawha County Sheriff Department." An autopsy is expected to be performed sometime this week to determine the Gandee's official cause of death. in the wake of Gandee's death, MTV has placed production of Buckwild on hold. • Late Night Last Night: Jimmy Fallon and Jay Leno Duet About 'Tonight' Rumors
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 02, 2013
Over the past few weeks, rumors have been spreading that Jimmy Fallon will be replacing Jay Leno as the host of NBC's Tonight Show. Until last night, both hosts did their best to skirt around the issue with jokes and jabs, but on Monday they decided to address the rumors the best way they knew how — with song. RELATED: Jimmy Fallon: 'It's Time for Jay Leno to Go' On Monday night, the two hosts teamed up for a Broadway-inspired duet that managed to incorporate nearly all of the rumors circulating around the Tonight debacle. While neither host confirmed that a transition is in fact in the works, they did make fun of all of the headlines and attention the controversy has been attracting. • Is Lindsay Lohan Joking About Being Pregnant?
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 02, 2013
Update: Aha! Just as we suspected, LiLo was just bein' a jokester. Lohan followed up her early morning pregnancy tweet (which seems to have since been removed from Twitter... very suspicious) with, "April Fools. Where is everyone's sense of humor?" Take pride in your tricksy ways, Linds, that's what April Fools' is all about! April Fools. Where's everyone's sense of humor? — Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) April 2, 2013 Earlier: Lindsay Lohan has a lot on her plate. She has been sentenced to go to rehab and seems to be trying everything in her power to avoid serving her court-ordered program (and potential jail time). But in the middle of all her drama, Lohan made an astonishing announcement on Twitter extremely early Tuesday morning.  "Its official. Pregnant..." Lohan tweeted around 2 AM EST.  RELATED: Lindsay Lohan Is Going on 'Letterman' It was still April Fools' Day on the West Coast when Lohan shared the tweet with her fans, so it's possible — or obvious, depending on how cynical you are — that the troubled starlet was pulling a fast one on us. If not, we might be seeing a baby bump in Lohan's next mug shot. Now there's a thought.  Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. • Jimmy Fallon: 'It's Time for Jay Leno to Go'
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 01, 2013
UPDATE: Fooled you! It's time to set the record straight: Twenty-five-year-old Jimmy Fallon of S.C. would prefer to see Jay Leno off the air, not the late night host. Still curious about the Whole Foods employee's thoughts about the late night shift? Read on! EARLIER: For the past two weeks, rumors have been circulating that Jimmy Fallon will be taking over Jay Leno's late night spot. While NBC has yet to comment on the situation, Leno has said that he hopes that Fallon will get his slot. But Jimmy Fallon isn't as kind. "I think it’s time for him [Jay Leno] to go," he tells Hollywood.com. "Back in the day, he was great and he could actually relate to everybody and what they were going through. But now, he’s just too old. He’s an old man [and] it’s time for him to be done." RELATED: Where Will Jay Leno Fans Go If He Really Leaves NBC This Time? And if, in fact, Jimmy Fallon does move up into Leno's spot, Fallon thinks Seth Meyers would be a great choice to replace the vacated Late Night hosting spot. "It would be awesome. Seth Meyers would be amazing actually because he just smokes so much pot and he’s just perfect," he jokes. If Meyers doesn't work out, Fallon says Jonah Hill would also be a good replacement "because his attitude is just amazing." "He’s absolutely hilarious in everything that he does," he says. "And I’ve yet to see anything of his that doesn’t completely crack me up. I always end up watching his deleted scenes and the outtakes and everything, he’s just so funny." RELATED: Seth Meyers Could Take Over for Jimmy Fallon Fallon's criticism is not just reserved for Leno, though. He also tells Hollywood.com Saturday Night Live isn't as good as it used to be. "Honestly, it got kind of dull for me," he says. "I liked the older episodes a lot better." RELATED: Jay Leno Jokes About His Dismissal from NBC Including ones that starred Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon, who recently devoted a whole week of shows to The 20/20 Experience singer. But Fallon, a 25-year-old Whole Foods Market employee from Goose Creek, S.C., says he doesn't feel as though he would vibe with Timberlake: "I don’t think he could handle being around me. I don’t think he could handle my lifestyle. I can basically do anything, be anything I want to be. He’s just no spontaneous enough for me. That’s just who I am." What South Carolina native Fallon can predict, though, is how people will react hearing that he shares a name the popular Late Night host. "I get that from my friends, my family, from customers I deal with all day long," he says. "When I was in school, I [even] got it from teachers." And, no doubt, from many of you on this April Fools.  Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. • Chris Brown: Beating Up Rihanna 'Was Totally Wrong'
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 01, 2013
It would seem like perfect timing for Chris Brown to start his forgiveness campaign. He is in the midst of releasing new songs and on Monday morning, even debuted a music video on the Today show. But can the world really overlook the fact that Brown beat up his girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009? Last week he campaigned hard on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show, claiming that he is a changed man. And on Monday, Brown furthered the campaign by telling Matt Lauer that beating up Rihanna "was totally wrong." "For me, I've been humbled by the whole experience," Brown said. "For me losing everything to having to regain public opinion or whatever it is, but most importantly knowing that what I did was totally wrong. And having to have kind of deal with myself and kind forgive myself in the same breath, and being able to apologize to Rihanna and being able to be that man that can be a man." Matt Lauer then pointed out that Brown has allegedly been in a fight with Frank Ocean and Drake, adding that people might not view Brown as a "changed" man. "For me, it's just a learning process," Brown replied. "I have to just take it one day at a time. I can't make everybody like me. It's just about me being positive." He added that he hopes people who have been in the same situation as he has been can be "inspired" to learn from his music. RELATED: Chris Brown: 'It Was A Learning Step For Me' But while the rest of the world may have a hard time trying to get "inspired" by this man's mistakes, there's no denying that Rihanna has forgiven Brown and that they are back together. "Yeah, everything is good," Brown said of their relationship. "We're fine." People still worry about Rihanna, though. But Brown said that he will "absolutely" never hurt Rihanna again. "I think it's me just me proving myself once again and also just me being a man, and knowing what I did was wrong and never doing again," he said. "So as far me [hurting her again], she knows my heart and I know her heart. I'm not really focused on the negative. Everything is positive for me."" Brown said that a 52-week domestic violence counseling programed helped him learn how to move forward. And Brown doesn't care if his haters think he has changed or not. "I think for me it’s about proving myself to my fans," he said. "I think the fans have been the number one support for me, so I think the naysayers are going to have their opinions. Anything I do... it’s not going to be always, 'Chris is the greatest.' I’m not going to focus my life on [trying to] please those people.” Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. This week was one that will go down in the history books. If you followed the news at all, then you know that California's Proposition 8 — the legislation that shot down the marriage equality law — went to the Supreme Court. While a decision has yet to be made on whether or not to uphold the amendment, the fact that the Supreme Court is now hearing arguments has the whole country talking, especially on Twitter.  Oh yeah, and before the Supreme Court hearings began, Tilda Swinton decided to take a nap in a glass box. • Billboard Beats: Goodbye 'Harlem Shake,' It's Time to Go Thrift Shopping
By: Lindsey DiMattina Mar 28, 2013
There is only so long that people can obsess over a song until it gets overplayed and worn out (remember when "Gangnam Style" was a thing?). When a song becomes every other person's ringtone and follows you from bar to bar on a Saturday night — not to mention clogs your newsfeed with new "viral" dance videos set to said ditty — you know you are approaching maximum capacity. Well, that moment has finally come for Baauer's nearly wordless tune, "Harlem Shake." This week, "Harlem Shake" has been knocked down a slot, with Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" moving back into No. 1. "Thrift Shop" has already been in and out of the No. 1 spot, but the radio and DJs haven't killed it yet. • Late Night Last Night: Jay Leno Fuels NBC Feud... Again
By: Lindsey DiMattina Mar 28, 2013
It's no secret by now that Jay Leno is in the middle of a heated feud with his hosting network NBC. For weeks now, the rumor mill has been spinning that NBC is planning to replace Leno with Jimmy Fallon. And while NBC has yet to confirm if these rumors are true or not, Leno has decided to wage war on the network.  On Wednesday night during his opening monologue, Leno made not one, but two jokes about NBC. He kicked right into it saying, "Folks, listen to this. Monday night the primetime shows The Voice and Revolution moved NBC in the number two position. You know what that means? Between Easter and Passover, this is truly the season of miracles. We’re number two! I’ve been saying for the last week that NBC is a big number two." He then later added: "T-Mobile announced yesterday they are doing away with contracts. Apparently they got the idea from NBC." RELATED: Jay Leno Slams NBC Again In the past few weeks, Leno has made jokes about the fact that he might get replaced. He has also compared his network's executives to snakes. And back in February, he poked fun of the fact that NBC moved down to fifth place during sweeps month. Keeping on with these tireless jokes certainly isn't helping Leno's case if he wants to keep his job. But then again, it doesn't really sound like Leno wants to save himself.   Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat [Photo Credit: NBC] You Might Also Like:Topanga's Revealing Lingerie Shoot: Hello '90s! 13 Most WTF Fan Tributes
