  • Late Night Last Night: LeAnn Rimes Says 'Screw You,' to the Brandi Glanville Drama
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 23, 2013 7:15am EST
It seems like every other day, a new headline screams, "Brandi Glanville Slams LeAnn Rimes" or "LeAnn Rimes and Brandi Glanville's Shocking Fight." The drama surrounding these two women (due to the fact that Rimes is now married to Glanville's ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian) just never comes to an end. And on Tuesday night, Rimes once again had to field questions about her ongoing feud with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star — this time from Jimmy Kimmel. To kick their interview into gear, Rimes revealed that she is dealing with a crippled voice due to a new onset of allergies that she has never had before. She told Kimmel the allergies are so bad that she wouldn't be able to talk for two weeks after their interview was completed Tuesday night. Well, this story gave Kimmel the leverage he needed to start asking about Glanville. First, he wanted to know if Rimes watches RHOBH. While she admitted that she doesn't, she said she still knows what happens on-screen. "I do know what's going on, because I have to deal with my publicist every Monday," she said. "I guess that's why I have no voice. I've been yelling at the TV screen, which I don't watch." Kimmel then addressed the fact that it always seems like one of the two ladies is saying something negative about the other. "I think that it's kind of interesting how it seems very one-sided most of the time," Rimes said. "But then, you know, you just kind of get fed up with people lying about you. And you're like, 'Words here. Words here.'" Kimmel pointed out that Glanville's most recent comments involved her calling Rimes "insane" during Monday's RHOBH episode. Rimes couldn't deny the fact that she's crazy. "I am, clearly," she said with a smile. Rimes continued on to say that she tries to ignore Glanville's affronts, but sometimes she just gets annoyed by all of the bulls**t. "I usually don't engage," she said. "But there comes a time when you're just like, 'Screw you!' That's it. That's all you want to say, and then you're like, 'I'm done with this for another three months.'" Clearly, Rimes hates Glanville's drama. "I don't really enjoy it," she said. "I do actually make music and I love it. It's awesome." Bam! Take that, Glanville! • Adele's Post-Baby Return: Performing 'Skyfall' Live at the Oscars
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 23, 2013 3:53am EST
Adele fans have been clamoring to learn when their beloved singer would be making a return to the stage. Since giving birth to her son in October, Adele has basically been MIA from the music scene. And while she accepted an award for her hit song "Skyfall" at the 2013 Golden Globes, the 24-year-old musician has yet to take the stage and perform in the United States since giving birth. Well, that's all about to change. It was announced Thursday that Adele will be performing "Skyfall" live at the 2013 Academy Awards in February, marking the first time the she has ever performed the single live and her first U.S. TV performance since the 2012 Grammy Awards, The Hollywood Reporter reports. "Skyfall," written by Adele and Paul Epworth, is nominated in the Best Original Song category this year. It is also the first James Bond theme song to make it to Billboard's Top 10 chart, and the first to be up for an Oscar since 1981 ("For Your Eyes Only"). "It's an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again,” Adele said. “It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!" The forces behind the Oscars are just as excited about Adele's upcoming performance. "We have enormous respect for Adele’s unique artistry as a songwriter and a singer,” the award show's producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said. “She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe that her performance of ‘Skyfall’ will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching at the Dolby Theatre and on television screens around the world.” Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. • Late Night Last Night: Timothy Olyphant Tells His Son to Kill People
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 22, 2013 6:40am EST
While the rest of the country was discussing President Barack Obama's second Presidential Inauguration or simply sleeping off a hangover from the three-day weekend, Timothy Olyphant stopped by Conan Monday night to have a chat about parenting. And a light-hearted chat it was not. The Justified star tried to joke about the fact that he lets his son play violent video games just because he has done voice-over work in the genre — Olyphant is the voice of Grinch in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3." "My son can't get enough [of video games]," Olyphant told Conan O'Brien. "We try to keep it to all things in moderation. [But] the thing that gets tricky is, I did a voice in a video game, like one of those shooter [games]. My son really wanted the game, and we broke down." Olyphant admitted that he always gets asked about the way that violence in video games affects kids. "What's curious about the whole thing is, you get asked in my line of work about the violence and the video game. 'Should the kids be playing it?'" he said. And Olyphant just isn't sure how to respond to the questions. "It's very difficult for me to answer that when my son is at home playing a violent shooter game and I'm in the game encouraging him to shoot people," he said. "He's like, 'Dad it's awesome.' I'm in there going, 'Two O'clock! Fire. Fire. Twelve O'Clock. Good shot, kid.'" But Olyphant does try, thought, to get his son to participate in more beneficial activities like reading. "And then I come in and I'm like, 'Turn the thing off. Let's go. It's time to read a book,'" he said. "And he's like, 'You were just telling me to kill people [in the video game].' [I respond,] 'Well, killing time is over son. Now it's time to read.' It's very confusing." Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. • Sayonara, Scientology! 10 Stars Who Have Said 'No Thanks' to the Controversial Religion
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 18, 2013 11:23am EST
The debate surrounding Scientology has been reignited thanks to the release of Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief, written by reporter Lawrence Wright (who won a Pultizer Prize in 2006 for The Looming Tower). While Wright's account was supported by years of research and vigrous fact-checking, The Church has denounced Wright's book in a vitriolic statement that begins, "Mr. Wright's book is so ludicrous it belongs in a supermarket tabloid. The claims are nothing more than a stale rehash of allegations disproven long ago." Now, Parenthood star Erika Christensen has decided to voice her support of her religion. In an interview done for her co-star Joy Bryant's web series, Christensen says, "If I had to sum it all up, the goal of Scientology is giving the person back to themselves," she says. "[It is about finding] your own power of choice." But while Christensen may find support in the Scientology community, there are plenty of other celebrities who have tested the religion's holy waters and decided that it's just not for them. Check out the stars who have flirted with the greater idea that is Scientology and decided to say, "No thanks." 10 Stars Who Rejected Scientology Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. • Late Night Last Night: Mark Wahlberg Belts Out His 'Boogie Nights' Tune — VIDEO
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 18, 2013 7:17am EST
It's been over 15 years since Dirk Diggler got in the studio to record his single "You Got the Touch" in the 1997 movie Boogie Nights. But like his character, Mark Wahlberg "was born ready" for the moment that he would again be asked to flex his vocals to the scratchy tune. That moment happened Thursday night, when Jimmy Kimmel asked the actor to put on a special performance. "That was a personal request from me, and I appreciate it," Kimmel told Wahlberg after the performance was done. "For those who have no clue what's going on... it's an intentionally terrible song from Boogie Nights." Wahlberg then shared a story of what it was like to first record the song. "They were like, 'We know you can't sing, so try to sing it as good as you possibly can,'" he recalled. "So seriously, we're in the studio for hours. I'm like, 'Dude it's supposed to be bad.' But [they're] like, 'No. It has to be your good version of bad.'" And despite Wahlberg's former musical career as a founding member of New Kids on the Block and early '90s rapper, Marky Mark, "You Got the Touch" turned out just as badly as the producers planned. "I was trying to distance myself from my music past, but not like that," Wahlberg said. Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. • Late Night Last Night: Kim Kardashian's Divorce Drama Drags On — VIDEO
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 17, 2013 7:24am EST
Kim Kardashian is on her way to becoming a first-time mom. As the whole world must know by now, she's pregnant with Kanye West's baby. And no, West is not her husband. In fact, Kardashian is still legally married to Kris Humphries. And yes, the drama surrounding her pending divorce has yet to fade away into a hazy tabloid past. With all the talk surrounding Kardashian's personal life since she announced her pregnancy, it's no wonder that David Letterman asked her Wednesday night about the status of her divorce. But what was shocking to find out is that Kardashian is still fighting with Humphries over when this marriage is going to finally come to an end. "It's a process," Kardashian told Letterman. "I've been trying for almost two years now to wrap it up, but it's hard." Like the rest of the world, Letterman wanted to know why Humphries won't let the divorce be finalized. "I can't speak for Kris, but I just want him to be happy and I want us to move on," Kardashian said. "That's what I really want is just to move on." But Humphries continues to fight for the marriage to be annulled, while Kardashian refuses to let an annulment go through. "The only legal way to get an annulment is if fraud were involved, so that's what's tricky," she said. "He is suing me for an annulment based on the fact that I frauded him into marrying him for publicity." Humphries is claiming that he is the victim in the marriage. "That's the only way to get [an] annulment is if one person was defrauded," Kardashian explained. Kardashian maintains that fraud is not what happened "in my case." Kardashian's older sister, Kourtney, then took the opportunity to interject in the conversation and take a swing at Humphries. "I think if she was going to do it for publicity, she'd pick someone that people knew," Kourtney said. Ouch! • Shakira’s Huge Baby Bump: Other Stars With Insane Pregnancy Bellies — GALLERY
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 17, 2013 5:31am EST
Shakira probably isn't shaking her hips right now. The 35-year-old singer and dancer revealed a picture of her growing belly on Twitter Wednesday and, given the crazy size of her bump, it's safe to assume that she isn't doing much of anything on her feet. We're surprised standing for the shot didn't send her into labor. But despite the size of her ever-expanding belly, Shakira wanted to share the beauty (or horror, depending on how you feel about such things) of her pregnancy with the world. "Queremos celebrar el nacimiento de nuestro primer hijo con todos #babyshower," she wrote. Roughly translated to English, the Colombian music queen said, "We celebrate the birth of our first child with all." Wait — child? As in, just one? Judging from the size of her belly, one would think Shakira and her boyfriend Gerard Pique are expecting a litter. It's a wonder 5' 2" Shakira, who weighed only 120 pounds prior to her pregnancy, can handle such a large addition to her tiny frame.  Shakira's baby bump has to be one of the craziest celebrity baby bumps ever seen before, but here are others who give her a run for her money.  Click Here to Launch Our Crazy Celebrity Baby Bumps Gallery! • Late Night Last Night: Jennifer Lawrence — 'You Can't Offend Meryl Streep'
By: Lindsey DiMattina January 16, 2013 6:33am EST
Lindsay Lohan needs to shut down her Twitter and spend more time studying movies from the '90s. If she had done that, then maybe the joke that Jennifer Lawrence made during her Golden Globes acceptance speech Sunday about Meryl Streep wouldn't have gone right over Lohan's head. During her speech, Lawrence said, "I beat Meryl," which is a line from The First Wives Club. It was a joke that Lohan and a lot of other people just missed — and Lawrence complained to David Letterman Tuesday night that she doesn't understand how people can be upset with her about the joke. "It's never a good idea for me to wing it, but it was a quote from First Wives Club," Lawrence said. "Bette Midler was talking about a Globe. I can't believe nobody's ever done it before ... She says, 'Look what it says. I beat Meryl.' It was so perfect." Lawrence was shocked to learn that Lohan slammed her on Twitter, saying, "No1 should ever mess with a legend, such as Meryl Streep." "I said it, and I had no idea Lindsay Lohan would take to the Twitterverse," Lawrence said. "I'm not on Twitter, but Twitter is very upset." Lawrence then just brushed off Lohan's attack. "First of all, it's Meryl Streep," she said. "You can't offend Meryl Streep." Letterman backed Lawrence up by describing the First Wives' scene in detail. "Bette Midler goes into Goldie Hawn's apartment, and she picks up the award," he said. "And she says, 'Look what it says. I beat Meryl.'" Lawrence joined in on the description. "And that's what I said," she said. "And then all of a sudden, I hate Meryl Streep. I was like, 'Is that what this turned into? I don't like Meryl Streep?' As if I've had my eyes on getting that girl forever. And I was like, 'Finally. I knew it would happen one day.'" Lawrence even came up with a plan to set people straight about her Globes joke. "I wanted to make a public statement like, 'Hey idiots, uh, it's a quote from the movie, and it's Meryl Streep.'" Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat.
