  • Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas Are Married
By: Lindsey DiMattina Jun 30, 2012
It seems like a daily, well almost daily, phenomenon that Alec Baldwin's name is in the news as of lately. Last week, he made headlines when he was pictured punching a New York Daily News photographer in the face, then parading around NYC with a sheet over his head, and again when he dropped his pants on Letterman. But Baldwin didn't stop there. On Friday, he was pictured again getting into a verbal tussle with another paparazzo. But, thank goodness, Baldwin makes headlines Saturday for a completely different reason, and this time, it's actually a quite joyous one: He and his fiancee Hilaria Thomas have finally said, "I do." "Hilaria Thomas and Alec Baldwin were married this evening at St. Patrick's Old Cathedral in New York City, sharing the occasion with family and friends inside the Cathedral, and Alec warmly receiving congratulations from well-wishing fans on his way into the service," Matthew Hiltzik, a friend of the couple, tells Hollywood.com. According to a pal, the reception was held at NYU Kimmel Center. Of course, Thomas had the best of the best when it came to her gown. "Hilaria wore a silk magnolia trumpet Amsale gown with cap sleeves and a keyhole back neckline accented with crystal buttons," the pal describes to us. Amsale also was in charge of dressing Hilaria's mother and Baldwin's 17-year-old daughter, Ireland — who wore a "slate silk chiffon gown with a strapless neckline and a lightly pleated bodice." Balwin opted for a rather fashionable Tom Ford suit. What's interesting about this wedding is the way that the couple reportedly invited their guests. According to the New York Post, Baldwin might have possibly waited till the day of the ceremony to give wedding guests their invites. So how did he send out the information so quickly? The Post suggests that Baldwin was planning to utilize his cellphone. No, he didn't personally dial every guest — but instead reportedly planned to invite guests with a simple text message. Spam anyone? However Baldwin got the details out, his wedding sure did turn out to be a star studded event. Celebrity guests included: Woody Allen, Tina Fey, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Baldwin's brother Billy Baldwin. Baldwin, 54, and Thomas, a 28-year-old Yoga instructor, first started dating in the summer of 2011. And, in January of 2012, Baldwin said he desired to have more children (he already has Ireland from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger), something that likely pushed Baldwin to propose just four months later in April. Congrats to Baldwin and Thomas on this joyous evening. And hopefully, the paparazzi don't get in Baldwin's way tonight. "Im delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," Adele, 24, posted on her website Friday. "I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. • Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Are Getting a Divorce
By: Lindsey DiMattina Jun 29, 2012
Tabloids, start your engines: Tom Cruise and his wife of five years, Katie Holmes, are getting a divorce, Hollywood.com has confirmed. "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family," Holmes's attorney Jonathan Wolfe tells People in a statement. "Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest." Cruise's rep adds to People that it was Katie who filed the papers, not Tom leading some to speculate that he was blindsided by the split: "Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy." While Cruise, 49, and Holmes, 33, tied the knot back in back in November 2006 (this is Holmes' first marriage), this isn't the first time Cruise faced a divorce. He was previously married to actress Nicole Kidman for 11 years before they split in 2001. Prior to that, he called Mimi Rogers his wife for three years, divorcing in 1990. Together, Cruise and Holmes have 6-year-old daughter, Suri. Cruise also has two children — Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17 — from his marriage to Kidman. Hollywood.com has yet to hear back from reps for the soon-to-be-ex couple. • Why Kourtney Kardashian Kan't Marry Her Baby Daddy Scott Disick
By: Lindsey DiMattina Jun 29, 2012
Scott Disick: the Kardashian family's latch-on puppet that has been along for the ride ever since he started dating oldest sister Kourtney Kardashian about five years ago. But even after all of his dedication to the family, fathering little Prince Mason (now 2 years old), and even helping the family to grow bigger by getting Kardashian pregnant with baby number two, Kardashian still refuses to walk down the aisle and become Mrs. Scott Disick. The question remains: Why kan't she take the plunge? Kould it be that Kardashian is worried that Scott will force the bridal party to show up in 50 shades of Barney purple? Or, has his anger over the years forced her to want to remain a single mom? "I know that I'm indecisive but I'm not indecisive with you," Kourtney tells Disick in an Us Weekly preview clip for Keeping Up with the Kardashians. "I'm obviously committed to us, even though we're not getting married, and I thought that that was understood." But this reasoning doesn't settle well with Disick. "The whole reason I had another kid with you is because you agreed to get married," Disick replies to Kardashian. "You broke the contract — you broke the deal." Isn't it always about Kontracts and Deals for this family? Either way, with the Kardashian's baby girl is due sometime this summer, she still refuses to sign on for the Disick deal. If Disick really wants to get married that badly, maybe he should think about changing his name to Kardashian. It seems like a much more profitable transaction. Watch the video below. • Russell Brand's 'Brand X' Premiere: Too Much Talk
By: Lindsey DiMattina Jun 29, 2012
Is it possible to rewind time back to last night? If so, I would like to make the conscious decision to go to sleep at my regular time and avoid wasting 30 minutes of my life. Unfortunately, I don't have Doc Brown's DeLorean-enhanced skills, and even more unfortunately, I did decide to stay up and watch Russell Brand's new late night show, Brand X. Let's just say it was as forgettable as, well, Sarah Marshall. Or, I should say, as forgettable as Sarah Marshall after Mila Kunis steps into the room.  Don't be fooled: This was no ordinary talk show, as much as it would have benefitted the show if it were one. Instead of celebrity visits and sit-down chats about hot Hollywood topics, viewers saw the equivalent of a half-hour Russell Brand comedy special. For 30 minutes (minus the commercial breaks), Brand mostly rambled on about his obsession with the Dalai Lama — that is, when he wasn't looking at his cue cards. It didn't help that between his rapid-paced joke-telling and twisted accent, it was almost impossible to follow what the guy was saying. There were, however, a few jokes that I did catch — unfortunately, most of them involved obvious (not to mention dated) targets like Tim Tebow, Kim Kardashian, Charlie Sheen, and (of course) Mel Gibson. Add to that Brand's patented — but still unappealing — styling and the comedian's bizarre tendency to feel himself up on-air, and it's easy to strike an X through Brand X on your DVR schedule.  Did you see the appeal, or do you understand where Katy Perry was coming from? • Savannah Guthrie Takes Ann Curry's Seat on 'Today'
By: Lindsey DiMattina Jun 29, 2012
On Thursday, America watched as an emotional Ann Curry stepped down from her Today show post as co-host, complete with tears running down her cheeks. ("I'm sorry I couldn't carry the ball across the finish line," the newswoman said during her farewell, which aired shortly after NBC execs teased Curry's hosting style in The New York Times.) And just 24 hours later, the media world was astir, speculating that Curry's rumored replacement Savannah Guthrie would be named Friday as the new Today co-host. While an announcement still has yet to be made, Guthrie has stepped up her coverage details as of Friday. She is even sitting in Curry's old co-host chair. The anticipation and rumors have been building for days now that Guthrie has the gig, but until NBC decides to officially name her as Curry's successor, all we can do is sit, wait, and watch. • Ann Curry Exits the 'Today' Show
By: Lindsey DiMattina Jun 28, 2012
Though viewers have been expecting it for the past week, Ann Curry's emotional farewell on Today was no less sad for fans of the soon-to-be-former anchor. After spending 14 years with NBC's morning news show, the host — who had been criticized and blamed for Today's dwindling ratings after taking over Meredith Vieira's post as anchor — announced she would be leaving Today on-air Thursday. (Savannah Guthrie has long been rumored to be replacing Curry as anchor and could be announced as early as Friday.) "For all of you who saw me as a groundbreaker, I'm sorry I couldn't carry the ball over the finish line, but man, I did try," Curry said, tears streaming down her cheeks. "After all these years, I don't even know if I can sleep in anymore. I know every time I wake up, I'll be missing you." While Curry will be leaving Today, she won't be saying goodbye to the NBC network. On Thursday, while announcing her Today split, Curry discussed her new venture as the lead of a seven-person news team that will cover global news stories. "We are going to go all over the world," she said. While the change suits the 55-year-old journalist — who had reportedly missed covering hard news during her tenure at Today — Curry still seems to value her Today family and fans, despite the criticism she fielded from NBC execs prior to her exit. (Network honchos teased her empathetic nature while talking to The New York Times earlier this week.) "All of you guys, being here with all of you... I love all of our brilliant producers," she said. "All of you who've watched, thank you. Thank you for your support." More: Ann Curry: A Week in Review Ann Curry's 'Today' Fate: Save Her, Fans Say Ann Curry: The Second Coming of Conan O'Brien

Ann Curry is expected to make a big announcement Thursday morning: She will be stepping down from her post as Today show co-host. It's "going to be a bit of a tough day," she told USA TODAY Wednesday. "I'm going to have to tell our viewers. That's what makes me more emotional than anything. I don't want to leave them. I love them. And I will really miss them." While Curry will be leaving Today, she won't be exiting the NBC family. Her new multi-year contract with the network places her in front of a seven-person news team that will cover the biggest stories developing around the world.
