  • Late Night Last Night: Harrison Ford Cusses Out Chewbacca — Video
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 18, 2013
Even though he is famous for playing Han Solo in the original Star Wars, Harrison Ford really doesn't want to talk about the new Star Wars that J.J. Abrams has in the works. Wednesday night, Ford promised to answer questions from the audience on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as long as they refrained from asking him any Star Wars related questions. Well, Ford was in for a surprise as some of his old Star Wars buddies were in the audience. Luke Skywalker stood up and asked him if he likes being in movies. A fat, male Princess Leia asked if Ford was hungry. And then, Chewbacca tried to apologize for sleeping with Harrison's wife — but that didn't go over so well.  "You Wookie sack of s***," Ford yelled. He then stormed off. According to CBS Los Angeles, who first reported the distressing news, the 84-year-old actress is in critical condition and in the Intensive Care Unit. On Saturday he wrote, "Long day at hospital, mom is resting fine & progressing. Oddly a profound, life affirming day. You were all in the room with us, your power."  Long day at hospital, mom is resting fine & progressing. • Did will.i.am and Chris Brown Steal a Song from House Producers Mat Zo and Arty?
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 17, 2013
will.i.am seems to have a problem with keeping his hands off of other people's property. First, he is sued for allegedly ripping off his hit single "Scream & Shout" with Britney Spears. And now, one of his new songs featuring Chris Brown has come under fire. will and Brown's new track, "Let's Go," is being questioned because of how it sounds oddly similar to house producers Mat Zo and Arty's dance tune "Rebound." It basically sounds like will lifted the song and added Brown's vocals to it. Arty has taken to Twitter to talk about the controversy. He said, "They never cleared rights through Anjunabeats, who's only one label, who ownes the rights for "Rebound". They never cleared rights through Anjunabeats, who's only one label, who owns the rights for "Rebound". — Arty (@arty_music) April 16, 2013 Brown, on the other hand, said on Twitter that he has never heard of Mat Zo or Arty before, according to a tweet captured by the Huffington Post. But, Brown has since deleted the message. Listen to the songs below. • Late Night Last Night: Hosts React to Boston Marathon Explosions
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 16, 2013
After explosions went off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon leaving three dead and 144 injured, it seemed fair that TV's late night hosts would start their opening monologues not with jokes, but with some words about the day's tragic events. While Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, and Jay Leno aired reruns Monday night, Conan O'Brien (originally from Boston), Jimmy Kimmel, and Craig Ferguson jumped right in to discussing the pain of the shocking bombings. Conan O'Brien: "We have a great show for you tonight. But first, I did want to start by mentioning what an upsetting and sad day it has been. I'm talking about what happened in Boston. Boston's my hometown. It’s where I grew up. It’s where my family lives. So I wanted to take a moment to say that like everyone here, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Boston and everybody who has been affected by this absolutely senseless act. It's important to say, right up top. That said, it is our job to do a show, and we’re going to try and entertain you the vey best we can. Which, given our track record, gives you people a 20% chance of having a good show tonight." Jimmy Kimmel: "Well, it was a terrible day. Very bad things happened today for no good reason. And our thoughts are with the people of Boston and everyone who is suffering as a result of the bombings at the marathon. It’s a disgusting thing. I don’t understand it. But my job is to make you laugh, so I will try to do that. And I will probably fail. I’m failing already. Craig Ferguson: "Hey everybody, good evening. Tonight’s show is a little bit different. Obviously the news of today is so horrendous that it would seem insensitive at best to say, ‘It’s a great day for America,’ so I won’t be starting the show with that tonight. Is anyone else sick of this sh**? I seem to have to say that too often." Ferguson continued, "People say to me, ‘Craig, your job is to make people laugh at the end of the day.’ And I think, yes, that’s true, but I’ve never professed to be any damn good at that. And, the thing is, people want their mind taken off it. And I think, 'Well OK, if you want your mind taken off it, you know, watch a cartoon or a video or something.' I understand it, it’s perfectly acceptable. I don’t think it’s a terrible thing to not want to think about it, but I can’t not think about it." "Also, I have a personal connection with the city of Boston," Ferguson added. "I have some history there. I have family there. When I became an American citizen in 2008, I spoke at Faneuil Hall on July 4, at the invitation of Tommy Menino who is the mayor of Boston, and one of the more colorful characters in American politics… I’ve been there for the Fourth of July many times… and every cop in Boston looks like I’m his brother. My first stand up special in America, I shot it in Boston. I like that town. I’m appalled by this thing, and when I watch it on these streets that I know... it’s horrifying." He ended his opening monologue with: "If I have all this inside of me. If I have all this rage and anger and distress and upset inside of me, I’m not a good enough comedian to hide all that from you." Follow Lindsey on Twitter @LDiMat. • Harvey Weinstein a Father Again at 61, Joins Ranks of Old Celeb Dads
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 15, 2013
If this were old times —say something like the era of the Tudor family — or a Jane Austen novel, then the future of Harvey Weinstein's estate would be set. That's right, The Weinstein Company co-chairman finally has a son. Weinstein's wife Georgina Chapman, fashion designer and co-founder of Marchesa, gave birth to the couple's first son on Thursday, People reports. After a bevy of daughters, his is Weinstein's first son. Together, Chapman and Weinstein have two-year-old daughter India Pearl and Weinstein has three daughters from a previous marriage: Emily, Lily, and Ruth.  But in reality, Weinstein, 61, and Chapman, 37 — who wed in 2007 — didn't really care if they had a boy or girl this time around. "Just as long as the baby is happy and healthy," Chapman told People when she announced her pregnancy. Weinstein added, "After four girls, I don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl. It makes no difference to me." Weinstein, at age 61, has now joined the ranks of other stars who became parents at the later stages in their lives. • Aubrey Plaza Kicked Out of MTV Movie Awards After Kanye-Crashing Will Ferrell's Acceptance Speech
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 15, 2013
Update: A rep for MTV says in a statement to Hollywood.com, "We can confirm that it was an unplanned moment and Aubrey was asked to leave following." Before: Kanye West isn't the only infamous stage crasher anymore. Sunday night at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza pulled a similar stunt, crashing fellow funnyperson Will Ferrell's Comedic Genius Award acceptance speech and trying to take his award.  While Plaza did not succeed in stealing the award, she did attract attention to her upcoming film The To Do List, the title of whcih she had strategically written across her chest. After she got off the stage and sat back down in her seat, Ferrell made a joke that the event went down as they had rehearsed. MTV has yet to confirm if this event was indeed planned, but it seems rather unlikely as Plaza was booted from the awards ceremony shortly after her stunt. MTV reports that the head of Viacom and MTV Executives escorted her "out of the venue." Ferrell was not too thrilled by the whole situation either. After the incident, backstage, he reportedly told MTV that he smelled "a lot of hot liquor breath" on Plaza during the incident. Yikes! Monday morning, Plaza took to Twitter to make a joke about the incident. "thanks for the advice @kanyewest went better than planned! #mtvmovieawards #chrisbosh #thesecret," she wrote. thanks for the advice @kanyewest went better than planned! #mtvmovieawards #chrisbosh #thesecret — Aubrey Plaza (@evilhag) April 15, 2013 Watch the video below. • Brad Paisley and LL Cool J Are Accidentally Racist: 10 Funniest Pop Culture Tweets
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 12, 2013
Country fans — well, all Americans, really — had something to be upset about this week when Brad Paisley and LL Cool J released their song "Accidental Racist." While the duo claims that their intentions were to get people to resolve the racism issues in this country, they overlooked the fact that their song's lyrics are actually racist. On a more somber note, The Iron Lady passed away. No, not Meryl Streep, but the actual "Iron Lady," Margaret Thatcher — former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. • Psy Debuts 'Gangnam Style' Follow-Up, 'Gentleman': Will He Strike Gold Twice?
By: Lindsey DiMattina Apr 12, 2013
Brace yourselves: Psy is back with another funky KorEnglish dance tune. That's right, nearly nine months after the South Korean musician released his unavoidable Top 40 hit "Gangnam Style," the pop star has debuted his new single called "Gentleman." Psy's new single has a lot of the same electronic dance beats that "Gangnam Style" (which has over 1.5 million hits on YouTube to date) had and it also has a solid club-like feel. (If it ain't broke...) Will "Gentleman" be as big of a hit as "Gangname Style?" Well, the song doesn't premiere on YouTube until Saturday and the main hook — "I'm a mother father gentleman" — is a bit confusing and not quite as catchy as "Hey, sexy lady!" But, given the way people were obsessed with "Gangnam Style" and this new single's similar sound, the odds seem promising in his favor that Psy will likely strike gold again.
