By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 11, 2013
Visual/WENN Congratulations, Emily Blunt! The British actress and her husband, John Krasinski, are expecting their first child. The happy news was confirmed Wednesday and the adorable couple — who wed in 2010 in Italy — have often talked about their desire to have children. In 2012, Blunt told Manhattan magazine, "We want to have children; I just don't know when yet. I'm just not sure about the timing of all of that. We're both from big families, so I think it's something we want." Blunt is next slated to appear as the Baker's Wife in Rob Marshall's Into the Woods, while Krasinski has just finished a long run as Jim Halpert on The Office. His next project is the upcoming film Prophet, which has a projected 2014 release date.  More: Emily Blunt to Join All-Star Cast of 'Into The Woods'Watch Jimmy Fallon and John Krasinski Have a Lip-Sync OffBernadette Peters Approves of the 'Into The Woods' Cast Follow @hollywood_com //   From Our Partners:A Complete History Of Twerking (1993-2013) (Vh1)15 Stars Share Secrets of their Sex Lives (Celebuzz)
  • 'Game of Thrones' Adds Sigur Ros to Its Cast of Thousands
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 10, 2013
WENN Another day, another piece of Game of Thrones casting news: Icelandic band Sigur Rós will be joining Westeros' cast of thousands in season 4. Made up of Jón Þór “Jónsi” Birgisson, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason, the band is a favorite of showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who often listened to their music when filming in Iceland. It's the third time that a band has made a cameo on the show - members of Coldplay and Snow Patrol have previously appeared - and it marks a continuing tradition of working with indie musicians to bridge the gap between our world and the seven kingdoms.   There's no word yet about the role the three will play, but they are currently filming in Croatia. Also currently filming there? The Lannisters, inlcuding Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldeau. Which means that it's now time for every Game of Thrones fan to do what they do best, and speculate. No doubt there's a diehard out there who will have the pieces put together in no time.  Fans will surely also be waiting to see if Sigur Rós manage to play a song more iconic or traumatizing than "The Rains of Castamere"- which was infamously performed by another indie rock band, The National. The HBO juggernaut also previously asked The Hold Steady to contribute "The Bear and Maiden Fair", and both songs appeared on the show's soundtrack.  More:Watch the 'Game of Thrones' Audition TapesThis Rhianna-'Game of Thrones' Mashup Is Life Changing'Game of Thrones' Iron Throne Not Good Enough For George R.R. • In Case You Ever Win the Lottery, Here's How to Vacation Like Beyonce — PICS
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 10, 2013
iamBeyonce/Tumblr Now that Labor Day has officially come and gone and summer is on its way out, we must put aside our dreams of relaxing, sun-filled vacations and instead settle back into our work routines. Today, Beyoncé has made it even harder to let go of those dreams by posting pictures of her European vacation on her Tumblr account. Like everything Queen Bey does, her vacation was perfect and sure to make all of the hours you spent stuck in traffic with your family seem even worse by comparison. But rather than stew in jealousy, why not instead take some notes from Ms. Knowles Carter so that your next trip can be just as fierce. After all, someone's gotta win the lottery.  First, hire a yacht so you can travel in luxury. iamBeyonce/Tumblr Bey and Jay's was reportedly three stories. Sure, you could fly to your exotic destination, but a yacht combines all of the luxury of a five star hotel with the adventure of the open water. Plus, it really gives you that "music superstar" feeling.  Next, be sure to take time for yourself.   iamBeyonce/Tumblr No matter what your job or stresses are, a vacation is the perfect time to relax and get away from everything. And with your private yacht, you'll be able to swim without having to worry about getting caught in the middle of someone's paddle ball game. Enjoy the little moments.  iamBeyonce/Tumblr If there's one thing Beyonce knows, it's that it's important to enjoy the time you have with your loved ones, and watching the sunset is the perfect opportunity to do so. That, and the lighting is fabulous.  Treat yourself.  iamBeyonce/Tumblr Nothing goes better with a beautiful sunset than champagne, so grab a glass and cuddle up to your superstar husband. So much nicer than a rowdy game of beer pong, no? Finally, bask in the glow of your fabulousness.  iamBeyonce/Tumblr It really is the most important step to doing anything like Beyonce.  More: Kanye West vs. Jay Z: The Battle to Be America's Most Loves Hip Hop StarWhy Does Beyonce Need £1,500 Worth of Chicken?Beyonce's Perfume Is No.1: What Sense Will She Conquer Next? • 'The Voice' Adds the Strangest Lineup of Guest Mentors: Cher, Miguel, and Ed Sheeran?
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 10, 2013
WENN The Voice is continuing on its quest to to beat American Idol and The X Factor as the nation's preferred talent competition by adding a new roster of celebrities to its lineup. Cher, Ed Sheeran, Miguel, and Ryan Tedder will all take part in the upcoming season as advisers. Sheeran and Miguel will work with the newly returned judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, respectively, while Tedder will assist Adam Levine and Cher will team up with Blake Shelton.  It's a remarkable change for Shelton, who up until this point has worked almost entirely with other country artists as his guest mentors. Perhaps being the winning judge for three consecutive seasons has finally given him the confidence to try something new. Sheeran, meanwhile, seems a little too shy and sweet to be partnered with Aguilera, whose outspoken personality has made her a popular topic of conversation during the season. Tedder and Levine, meanwhile, are the most logically matched team and ,unfortunately, promise to be the most boring.  This season's most entertaining duo, however, should be Miguel and Green. It's a bit of a surprising decision for Miguel, music's current king of cool, to appear on a talent comeptition, but pairing him with Green makes perfect sense. And since both have a history of wacky antics — the pet cockatoo, the infamous leg drop — it's only a matter of time before insanity completely takes over. Hey, remember when The Voice was about singing rather than just the judges acting up? Nope, us neither.  More:'The Voice': And the Season 4 Winner Is...Judges on 'The Voice' Don't Know How to Sit in Chairs 'The Voice' Judges to Take Turns for Seasons 5 and 6  Follow @hollywood_com // From Our Partners From Our Partners:A Complete History Of Twerking (1993-2013) (Vh1)20 Grisliest TV Deaths of 2012-2013 (Vulture)
  • Listen To Coldplay's Broody Theme for 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 09, 2013
WENN Team Katniss, the odds are certainly in your favor today. With just over two months until the November 22 release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Coldplay has released "Atlas," the film's theme song. It's exciting news for Hunger Games fans, as it's the first piece of information about the soundtrack that anyone has been able to get their hands on. The song itself is classic Coldplay: a plinky piano line with Chris Martin's soft vocals layered over the top that all builds to a crescendo somewhere around the second chorus.  Upon first listen, "Atlas" seems like a strange choice for a film about children forced to kill each other in gladitorial-style combat. After all, twinkly pianos don't exactly say "death" or "violence," do they? However, The Hunger Games has always placed a great deal of emphasis on the dark emotions that come with killing other people, and both the novel and the film make sure that the audience understands that Katniss is terrified and fighting for her life. It makes sense, therefore, that the film's theme would be a quiet, broody song to underscore all of the emotion that gets lost in those rapid-fire fight sequences. And while it wouldn't be the kind of song used to underscore a battle, it would work perfectly over the end credits, as the audience reels from that cliffhanger ending.  The decision to make "Atlas" the Catching Fire theme also makes sense when you consider the first film's theme song: the sad and dreamy "Safe and Sound" by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars. Sonically, the two songs compliment each other well, and they both highlight the human emotion that is at the center of Katniss' story. Neither one will inspire you to charge into battle, bows drawn, but after all, that's not really what The Hunger Games is all about.    More:Our Six Most Anticipated Movies For the Fall23 Roles We'd Love To See Jennifer Lawrence TakeWatch the 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Trailer Follow @hollywood_com // From Our Partners:A Complete History Of Twerking (1993-2013) (Vh1)15 Stars Share Secrets of their Sex Lives (Celebuzz)
  • Constructing the Perfect Bruno Mars Super Bowl Halftime Show
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 09, 2013
Getty Images It's never easy to follow Beyoncé, but that's exactly what Bruno Mars has to do when he performs at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 2. The Platinum-selling artist will be faced with the difficult task of entertaining both the thousands gathered at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, and the millions of people watching at home. In order to help take some of the pressure off, we've pulled together five of his iconic performances and highlighted what he can learn from each one. If he can manage to work them all in during his time on the Super Bowl stage, there's no way his performace will be anything less than amazing.  Staging from the 2013 VMAsBetween the lasers, the animated gorilla head, and the pryotechnics, it's hard to believe that this performance didn't take place in the middle of the MetLife Stadium. Mars should keep this amazing 2013 version of his latest single, "Gorilla," in mind when working on the staging for the halftime show — if this is what he's got for the VMAs, just imagine what he could do for the Super Bowl.    Vocals from the 2012 BRITsThis 2012 performance of "Just The Way You Are" featured some slick moves and spiffy tuxes, but the real stand out was Mars' incredible vocals. He's one of the best singers in the game today, and the Super Bowl is the perfect chance for him to show off what he can do. Plus, he's got enough charisma and stage presence that to win over the entire audience even if he just stands still.    Choreography from 2013 Billboard Awards Mars' track "Treasure" is pure funky-pop fun and none of his performances showcase that fact better than his appearance at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. Dressed in matching red suits, Mars and his band appear to be having the time of their lives on stage and their enthusiasm is contagious. If they decide to bust out the same moves on Feb. 2, it's pretty much a guarantee that the audience in both the stadium and at home will be on their feet.  Innovation from the 2011 Grammys One of the best things about Mars as a performer is that he isn't afraid to mix things up and try something new. Take his 2011 Grammys performance, for example, where he reworked his ballad "Grenade" into a a soulful Doo-Wop song. There's no better venue for Mars to revisit that creativity than the Super Bowl stage, and we're hoping the opprtunity inspires Mars to try something completely different.    The Star Power from 2013 Grammys. Madonna had Cee-Lo Green and M.I.A., Beyoncé had Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams — part of the fun of watching the halftime show is waiting to see what other stars the performers have invited along. We think Mars should take some inspiration from his 2013 Grammys performance, where he sang with Sting, Rihanna, and Damien and Ziggy Marley, and bring out some of his famous friends. After all of the hit singles he's written for them, it's the least they could do.    More: How To Look Like Hugh Jackman and Bruno MarsBillboard Beats: Bruno Mars is 'Your Man'Why Beyonce's Super Bowl Halftime Show was Better Than the Game  Follow @hollywood_com // From Our Partners:A Complete History Of Twerking (1993-2013) (Vh1)15 Stars Share Secrets of their Sex Lives (Celebuzz)
  • Willem Dafoe to Terrorize Shailene Woodley in 'The Fault in Our Stars'
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 06, 2013
Cinzia Camela/WENN Shailene Woodley should be afraid, very afraid: Willem Dafoe has been cast in the upcoming adpatation of John Green's bestseller, The Fault In Our Stars. Dafoe will play Peter Van Houten, the angry, alcoholic recluse who wrote Hazel Grace's (Woodley) favorite book, An Imperial Affliction. The character appears in several pivotal scenes that take place in Amsterdam, and his novel holds a great deal of importace to the plot. Green announced the news via Twitter on Friday.  It's an interesting casting decision, especially when looked at in context with many of Dafoe's other roles. He's made a career for himself playing terrifying and sinister characters, and while Van Houten is certainly mean— and even a bit scary at times — it seems like quite a departure for the actor. While it's still too soon to tell if Dafoe will choose to explore the character's softer, sadder side, it's pretty much guaranteed that his scenes are going to be intense. Although, it might be hard to even see them through all of our tears.  The film's cast also includes Nat Wolff, Sam Trammell and Laura Dern, and is expected to be released in 2014.  More:Mike Birbiglia Joins 'The Fault in Our Stars''Divergent' Teaser: Shailene Woodley in ActionWatch the 'Divergent' Trailer Follow @hollywood_com // From Our Partners:A Complete History Of Twerking (1993-2013) (Vh1)15 Stars Share Secrets of their Sex Lives (Celebuzz)
  • Paul Rudd Brings Black Comedy Home for the Holidays in 'All Is Bright' Trailer
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 06, 2013
Every year, the approach of the holidays brings with it a slew of movies overflowing with tinsel, kisses under the mistletoe, and family fights that get resolved over hot cocoa. The trailer for the upcoming film All Is Bright, however, promises none of those things. Instead, the black comedy seems like the perfect antitode to all of those treacle-y sweet holiday movies - anyone who has ever gotten frustrated around the holidays will find Paul Giamatti sawing apart an inflatable snowman cathartic.  GreeneStreet Films The film, which is director Phil Morrison's first since 2006's Junebug, centers around Dennis (Giamatti), a French Canadian ex-con who leaves prison to discover that his daughter thinks he's dead and his former partner, Rene (Paul Rudd), is dating his ex-wife. Jobless, homeless, and hopeless, he teams up with Rene once again to sell Christmas trees in New York around the holidays in the hopes of making some fast cash. Although Rudd's charming loser promises to bring most of the humor to the film, he seems set to be overshadowed by another great performance by Giamatti. However, the real pressure is on Morrison: after eight years, critics and fans will be dying to see how well the film stacks up against Junebug.  All Is Bright will be avilable On Demand on September 20, and in theaters October 4 , well before the egg nog hangover sets in.  More:'Prince Avalanche' Paul Rudd InterviewPaul Giamatti Joins 'Downton Abbey'Paul Rudd Explains the Wonders of Being Alone in 'Prince Avalanche' Clips  Follow @hollywood_com // From Our Partners:A Complete History Of Twerking (1993-2013) (Vh1)15 Stars Share Secrets of their Sex Lives (Celebuzz)

  • Katy Perry's 'Roar' Video Is So Ridiculous It's Good
By: Julia Emmanuele Sep 05, 2013
YouTube What do you get when you combine plane crashes, elephant pedicures, and skirts made of leaves? The video for Katy Perry's latest single "Roar," of course. Stylized after an old-fashioned disaster movie, it shows Perry undergo the typical uplifting pop song journey from wide-eyed and scared to Queen of the Jungle. Sure, you've seen it before — Perry's even done it before — but what saves "Roar" from getting lost in the empowerment video shuffle is the sheer amount of fun in it.  Becuase when Katy Perry is Queen of the Jungle, she uses her high heel to catch bananas and wrestles alligators so she can clean their teeth. She even has a roaring contest with the tiger that killed her boyfriend. The video is, essentially, so ridiculous that it's good. It plays up the cheesiness of the song in just the right way, making the song actually better with the video than on its own. By the time Perry's taking selfies with a monkey, you might even be charmed enough to forgive her for the fact that "Roar" will be stuck in your head for the next week.  Perry's at her best when she's at her goofiest, so let's hope the cheese and the charm is back for good.  More:Katy Perry's VMAs Performance of 'Roar' Was Pretty Damn Awesome Katy Perry's 'Roar' vs. Lady Gaga's 'Applause'Katy Perry Texted Kristen Stewart About Robert Pattinson Follow @hollywood_com // From Our Partners:A Complete History Of Twerking (1993-2013) (Vh1)15 Stars Share Secrets of their Sex Lives (Celebuzz)
