  • Ellen Page Comes Out, Twitter Explodes: Twitter Roundup
By: Rishbha Bhagi February 24, 2014 5:40pm EST
Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic While most people spent their Valentine's Day out with their significant others or cuddling up with a tub of cookie dough ice cream (aka the best significant other in the world), Ellen Page spent the day at the Time to THRIVE conference in Las Vegas changing her life. She gave an articulate and heartwarming speech (see below) in which she came out for the first time in public. On top of the many obvious reasons why we can applaud this, there's also the victory over not having to pretend that she's awkwardly dating Alexander Skarsgard anymore. Page's genuinely moving speech garnered an overwhelming amount of support, not only at the Las Vegas Human Rights Campaign Foundation function, but also in the online celebrity world, with many of Page's peers commending her for her courage.  Love love LOVE @EllenPage & the message she sent out today! • Celebrities vs. Superbowl 2014: Twitter Roundup
By: Rishbha Bhagi February 10, 2014 8:30am EST
Kate Upton/Twitter Seattle may have owned the 2014 Superbowl last week, but the real stars were online on Twitter. Live-tweeting has turned everyone and their iPhone into a bona fide commentator, and some of the best tweets came from our favorite celebrities. Tyra Banks was clearly watching America's Next Top Footballer, Aziz Ansari made us all laugh-weep for the days of Friday Night Lights, and Hillary Clinton threw some beautiful shade towards Fox, making her the real winner of the Superbowl.  Ryan Seacrest I wish I loved something as much as Pete Carroll loves chewing gum — Ryan Seacrest (@RyanSeacrest) February 3, 2014 Aziz Ansari OVERHEARD: "Smash you listening to me or texting Drake about an after party?! • Celebs and their BFFs: Twitter Roundup
By: Rishbha Bhagi February 03, 2014 11:04am EST
DerekBlasberg/Twitter Since social media has basically eviscerated the definition of privacy, it's become much easier to track the personal lives of celebrities based on what they put up on their Twitters and Instagrams, including who they keep company with. While some stars keep their personal lives personal, other stars love to share their exploits with the people they're close with, whether those people are real life BFFs or online BFFs (or, in Zac Efron's case, a photoshop BFF). From Ian Somerhalder's cute son (i.e. his cat) to Aaron Paul's Heisenberg-reminiscing, here's a look at some of the people that celebs love to post themselves online with.  Lady Gaga About last night: #twinsies (And, yes, @ladygaga is brushing her hair with a fork.) pic.twitter.com/IgdhPo7bia — Derek Blasberg (@DerekBlasberg) January 20, 2014 Is Gaga turning into Donatella or vice versa? More importantly, why is Gaga serving up Ariel from The Little Mermaid realness by combing her hair with a fork? (My apologies if that is an actual dinglehopper.) Zac Efron I got kissed in Miami. #awkwardtour pic.twitter.com/wmuCRuaRBq — Zac Efron (@ZacEfron) January 24, 2014 The cast of That Awkward Moment has awesome chemistry on and off the screen, but Zac Efron clearly only has eyes for the dog he's making out with on Un Nuevo Dia. Zach Braff I don't wanna get up. @Harry_Styles pic.twitter.com/POyh32KsUi — Zach Braff (@zachbraff) January 24, 2014 The amazing photoshop, Zach Braff's majorly creepy gaze, Harry Styles' satisfied mug, the spooning... this picture = brilliance. Ian Somerhalder Getting work done from bed. Umm... What's odd about this work day??? Boy he loves his dad. http://t.co/tuMdK9l6c8 — ian somerhalder (@iansomerhalder) January 22, 2014 According to the caption, Ian Somerhalder's furry friend is more his son than his BFF. That's nice. Can we talk about how the cat is literally burrowing his way into Ian's butt, though?
  • 'The Louise Log' Whispers Its Way Back for a Third Season
By: Rishbha Bhagi January 30, 2014 4:00pm EST
The Louise Log/Facebook If you haven’t acquainted yourself with Anne Flournoy’s The Louise Log, it’s time to get out from under that comfortable rock and smell the awesomeness. After two lovable seasons, the critically-acclaimed NYC web series managed to raise enough moolah through a successful crowdfunding campaign for a third season, which will consist of approximately ten episodes. Slated to kick off this month, The Louise Log can be watched online every Thursday on its official YouTube channel. The comedy web series is written by writer/director/producer Flournoy and writer Mordecai Mark Green and originally starred Christine Cook as the caffeine-addicted NYC housewife. Her everyday adventures include dealing with a diva husband, an “inner voice” that just doesn’t give up, and life in Greenwich Village. Everyone from Roger Ebert to vagina monologuist Eve Ensler buzzed about the web series, with the latter stating, “The Louise Log is brave, funny, real, deep, clever, poetic, and original. But mainly it is New York. Interior New York. Smart-assed, paralyzing self-analytical neurotic New York. Watch it.” L.A. writer/producer Tom Diggs summed up the series in five perfect words: "Woody Allen without the incest." Boom. The series started out with literally no budget, but after two seasons (34 episodes), the series garnered a cult following and was nominated for a 2013 Shorty Award. For the third season, creator Anne Flournoy decided to change things up a bit by introducing a new Louise. Fans need not worry, though, as the new Louise (played by Morgan Hallett) is just as epic as Cook's original portrayal. "We knew last summer that the original Louise was not returning, that we'd have to recast her and we did," Flournoy said. "But after one day of shooting with the 'new' Louise, it became clear that we needed to re-recast Louise - and on the double. The next day Morgan Hallett walked in the door, a godsend - brilliant, beautiful, generous, and wicked funny." Head over to The Louise Log's official website to get yourself acquainted with your new favorite webseries and to catch up on past episodes.  Follow @Hollywood_com //
  • Celebs React to Justin Bieber's DUI: Twitter Roundup
By: Rishbha Bhagi January 27, 2014 7:00pm EST
Splash News It seems as though the inevitable backlash has begun to take reign over Justin Bieber's career. The brothel-hopping, egg-throwing, and ruckus-causing may not have done it, but drag racing drunk and high in the streets of Miami? Time to get your life, Justin. By now, we've all seen his Colgate-approved mugshot and not surprisingly, everyone and their dog had an opinion about it and Bieber's situation on social media. Beyonce's surprise album gave Twitter a bona fide shakeup, with about 5,300 tweets being posted per minute, but Bieber's arrest surpassed that with a whopping 6,100 tweets per minute. Bieber's DUI has ended up dominating social media, with memes, gifs, and hash tags making light of his arrest - funnily enough, while "#deportBieber" was trending in America, "#keepBieber" was trending in Canada. As expected, many celebrities have also taken to their Twitter to share their thoughts on Bieber's situation, because why not? Justin may be the latest star who may be facing the muzak of celebrity justice, but if there's one place you don't want to be indicted, it's before the judge, jury, and executioners of Twitter.  Zach Braff  Who amongst us hasn't drag-raced a Lambo in Miami on pills? #FreeBieber — Zach Braff (@zachbraff) January 23, 2014 Seth Rogen All jokes aside, Justin Bieber is a piece of shit. — Seth Rogen (@Sethrogen) January 23, 2014 Lisa Rinna Baby, Baby, Baby, NO!!!!!! • Neil Patrick Harris vs. Margaritas: Twitter Roundup
By: Rishbha Bhagi January 14, 2014 6:00pm EST
instagranph/Instagram The ever-affable Neil Patrick Harris spent the holidays in Mexico with his friends and family, and with last week being the wrap up of his trip, NPH decided to engage in a delicious battle between himself and some hardcore Mexican margaritas. NPH bravely documented his adventures, battle scars, and bravery on Twitter and Instagram, and though he may have lost the war (really though, who'd want to win?!), we all admire his courage and hilariously awkward pictures with other people that came out as a result of this gruelling and arduous fight to the passed-out.  Last day of our Mexico adventure. • Celebs Tweet in the New Year: Twitter Roundup
By: Rishbha Bhagi January 07, 2014 12:30pm EST
Steve Jennings/Getty It may be the beginning of 2014 (am I the only one who still feels like 1999 was just a couple years ago?!), but our favorite celebrities have shown that they still love social media as much as they did in 2013. Last year in Hollywood was an interesting one, to say the least - from Miley dominating the headlines with her lizard tongue to Kanye hilariously trying to convince the world that he fathered a child with a classy lady, 2013 was quite the ride. Though it's uncertain how 2014 will play out in the entertainment world, celebrities were in high spirits ringing in the new year on Twitter.
