As the resident CW-lover on the Hollywood.com staff, she truly believes her Clark Kent/Dean Winchester/Damon Salvatore/Lucas Scott/Oliver Queen/Chuck Bass/Seymour Birkhoff/Wade Kinsella/Vincent Keller/Micah Barnes is out there somewhere, waiting for her, in real life (just go with it). He's basically the greatest specimen ever to walk this earth. He's beautiful, he's sexy, he's talented, he's a good person, and he's every woman's dream. Men want to be him. Dogs want to be owned by him. But not everyone can attain the perfection that is Ryan Gosling. In honor of his movie, Gangster Squad, which opened in theaters Friday, we've compiled a gallery filled with photos of Ryan Gosling Doing Things. But we did you one better: we modified that gallery to Ryan Gosling Doing Things In Tank Tops. Yeah, you're welcome. • TV Tidbits: Andy Samberg Teams with 'Parks and Rec' EPs for Fox Pilot
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 11, 2013
From Bond to Frankenstein: On the heels of their movie Skyfall, the film’s co-writer John Logan and director Sam Mendes are headed to Showtime with a high-concept drama project. The untitled drama is described as a psychological horror drama series with literary underpinnings, including Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, set in the 1800s. This would mark both Logan and Mendes’ series debut. [Deadline] Saturday Night Detectives? Fox has given a pilot order to an untitled Andy Samberg comedy project. The pilot, about a diverse group of detectives at a New York precinct, will be executive produced by Parks and Recreation executive producer Dan Goor and co-creator/showrunner Mike Schur. David Miner also will executive produce, with Samberg producing. [THR] Gaffigan Playing a Version of Himself: CBS has ordered a pilot starring Jim Gaffigan. The comedy from Peter Tolan (Rescue Me) and Gaffigan would feature the comedian as a happily married father of five, “just as he is in real life,” CBS says. It will be a single-camera comedy. Other executive producers are Michael Wimer and Alex Murray. [EW] Always a Bridesmaid, Now a Mother? Bridesmaids co-star Wendi McLendon-Covey has been cast as the female lead of ABC’s untitled Adam F. Goldberg single-camera comedy pilot (formerly How the F Am I Normal), written by Goldberg and to be directed by Seth Gordon. Inspired by Goldberg’s experience growing up in the ’80s with a highly screwed up but loving family, the show is a family comedy set in the ’80s that centers on an in-your-face mother and hot-tempered father who love their three eccentric kids so much, they can’t bear to see them grow up. McLendon-Covey will play the mother, Beverly Gold, a dedicated mom and an overbearing hyper-emotional shopaholic with no sense of boundaries and a big mouth that she’s not afraid to use. [Deadline] More Wives for Lifetime, Plus a Singing Husband: Singer/actor Jesse McCartney has booked a recurring role on the upcoming seventh season of the Lifetime drama Army Wives. The singer/actor will play Private Tim Truman, a young, eager and enthusiastic soldier determined to prove himself on his first deployment, and the husband to high school sweetheart/new series regular Elle McLemore's farm girl Holly Truman. Lifetime is also developing a remake of the BBC drama Prisoners' Wives. The drama, from Endemol Studios, is based on the Tiger Aspect format about four different women, each struggling to cope with a man in her life serving prison time. Get ready for a summer of dinosaurs. The next chapter in the Jurassic Park franchise just got a release date. Jurassic Park 4 in 3D hits theaters on Friday, June 13, 2014, Universal Pictures confirms to Hollywood.com. It's been a while since we visited Jurassic Park. The Joe Johnston-directed Jurassic Park 3 came out in July 2001. However, the studio is re-releasing the original film in a remastered 3D version in April. Now we know why Spielberg put on a hold on Robopocalypse: will he step up and direct the fourquel? Either way, Jurassic Park 4 is on its way. What do you need out of a new Jurassic Park movie? Tell us in the comments. • Megan Fox Quits Twitter After 6 Days: Who Else Quit (and Who Came Running Right Back)?
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 11, 2013
Does Megan Fox own the title for the shortest Twitter lifespan? She joined the social media site on Jan. 3, tweeting, "I'm incredibly late to the party but I'm here nonetheless, so what now?" Apparently she never got a suitable answer to her question, because after a mere 13 tweets, @MeganFox is closing up shop. Fox posted on Facebook (because when quitting one social media site, you use another!), "Some of you may, or may not have noticed by now that my Twitter account has been shut down... I thought that 2013 might be the year that I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly... but as it turns out I still hate it. Love you guys but I will just never be that girl. Facebook is as much as I can handle. #I'm Sorry." Guess she never quite understood how to hashtag correctly, either? Fox's Twitter breakup isn't that surprising. It seems like she never quite got into a tweeting groove. Her last tweet on Jan. 9 foreshadowed her shutdown of her account. "5 days on Twitter and I have yet to discern it's purpose. #WhatIsThePoint ???" she wrote. Even with 260K followers, she couldn't make it work. From her first tweet to her last tweet, Fox was only on Twitter for a mere six days. While she may hold the title for the shortest Twitter lifespan, she's not the only celebrity to shut down her account (but she might be the only one who stays off for good!). - John Mayer famously shut down his Twitter after getting a lot of heat for speaking publicly about his exes, though he claimed his purpose was more of the professional variety, saying he shut it down to "return to the studio." - Mulit-hyphenate Renaissance man James Franco spent a few weeks tweeting before hosting the Oscars, but a Twitter feud with Bruce Vilanch prompted him to quit. - Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter, offering up this video as an explanation to her fans. Because, you know, that's the same.  - While Twitter mainstay Ashton Kutcher didn't exactly quit Twitter, it could be seen that way. He relinquished control of his account to his management team after a controversy involving an ill-timed tweet or two (first proclaiming the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 to be "the greatest day of the year" because of the return of Sunday Night Football, and then condemning the firing of Joe Paterno before knowing the reasons behind it). - Little Britain star Matt Lucas quit Twitter after a teenager tweeted a joke about the death of his former partner Kevin McGee, who hanged himself in 2009. - Chris Brown, after getting into a Twitter feud with comedian Jenny Johnson, deleted his account, but couldn't stay away: he rejoined the next morning. - But Amanda Bynes is perhaps the most fickle — and most random — tweeter ever. She has threatened to quit both Twitter and acting multiple times. Her Twitter breakup did not stick, but her return to acting still remains to be seen... • A 'Vampire Diaries' Spin-off Starring Joseph Morgan is in the Works
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 11, 2013
Fans of The Vampire Diaries’ biggest villain, Original hybrid werewolf/vampire Klaus, you may want to brace yourselves for the best news ever. A pilot for a potential spinoff from TVD has officially been greenlit by The CW in consideration for next season, Deadline reports. The Originals, from TVD co-creator/exec-producer Julie Plec, will star Joseph Morgan's Klaus as well as series newcomer Phoebe Tonkin, who played werewolf Hayley in the first half of Season 4. The spinoff will focus on the fan-favorite family of Original vampires — the oldest vampires in existence — as Klaus returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he actually helped build centuries ago. There, he is reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel. And here’s the best news yet: we will actually be getting a sneak peek at the new series during an upcoming episode of TVD airing on April 25, serving as the potential backdoor pilot. Plec will write the episode as well as executive produce The Originals (if it gets a series order) with Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo for Alloy, Warner Bros TV and CBS TV Studios. TVD showrunner Kevin Williamson, who is working on his upcoming Fox show The Following, is not involved with the spinoff. TVD fans, how do you feel about this big news? A spinoff has been rumored for a long time, and now that it is finally coming to fruition, are you excited to delve deeper into Klaus' background? How will Hayley fit into the new story? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! [Photo Credit: Quantrell D. Colbert/The CW] Follow Sydney on Twitter @SydneyBucksbaum More: 'Community' Plays the 'Hunger Games'! • Al Roker's Sharting Confession Gets the Autotune Treatment Because This is The Internet
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 10, 2013
Well, the Internet exists for a lot of reasons. First of all, it makes life infinitely easier for everybody. It's a great invention. And duh... it's really cool. But it's also here to make sure you don't forget about certain events for a long time. So if you're one of those people — ahem, everyone — who was absolutely horrified upon hearing Al Roker's sharting confession, sorry 'bout that. This 15 minutes is stretching on a bit longer. After the Today show anchor went on Dateline to share his TMI tale of pooping his pants — at the White House, no less — we were all anxiously awaiting the next scandalous piece of news to forever bleach our brains of this awful, awful image. TOO BAD. Because the Internet exists, and the Internet does what it pleases, we now have an autotuned version of Roker's confession. Check it out below: Is it bad if we think it's kind of catchy? Damn you, autotune, for making even the grossest thing ever an earworm!  [Photo Credit: WENN] Follow Sydney on Twitter @SydneyBucksbaum More: Justin Bieber Sued for Allegedly Assaulting his Bodyguard All the Insane Things Lindsay Lohan Did on the Set of Bret Easton Ellis' 'The Canyons' Justin Timberlake on Making a New Album: 'I'm Ready' From Our Partners: Guess the Celebrity Bikini Body! • Which Superhero Movie Star Might Star In 'Godzilla'?
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 10, 2013
He may not be your typical superhero, but it looks like he might be saving the world from a giant reptile. Aaron Johnson might be starring in Godzilla, the Gareth Edwards-directed, Frank Darabont-re-written reboot, Deadline reports. However, Johnson won't make a final decision until he sees the final script. Hollywood.com has reached out to Johnson's reps for comment, but confirmation was not immediately available. The reboot is scheduled to begin production in March, and has a tentative release date of May 16, 2014. The reboot is already going through a major overhaul: Legendary Pictures is replacing producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee (both of Warner Bros.), but as of yet the release date hasn't been altered. Johnson is best known for playing the unlikely titular superhero in Kick-Ass (and the upcoming sequel Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall), but was most recently in Anna Karenina and Savages. • Steven Spielberg Puts 'Robopocalypse' On Hold
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 09, 2013
Steven Spielberg has decided to push back Robopocalypse, his big sci-fi film about – duh – a robotic apocalypse, Deadline reports. He was previously scheduled to direct the movie this spring for Fox and Disney through Dreamworks but he wanted more time, and didn’t want to rush such a large-scale and expensive film. Based on the novel of the same name by Daniel H. Wilson and with a script penned by Drew Goddard, Robopocalypse is about the battle for survival after humans generate the first mass intelligence computer brain and it turns on them. The film was set to star Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway. No word yet on when Robopocalypse might see a new release date, or if the leads will stay with Hemsworth and Hathaway. But if Spielberg doesn't want to rush it, then we say all the better. We'd rather wait longer for a great film than settle for a mediocre one released faster. • CW Shows Go 8-Bit In Honor Of 'The Carrie Diaries' Series Premiere
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 09, 2013
In honor of the upcoming series premiere of the Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries next week, The CW released some awesome 8-bit art for their other, modern-day set shows on Twitter. From Supernatural's Sam and Dean Winchester and angel Castiel, to Hart of Dixie's main love triangle Zoe, Wade, and George, to Arrow's Oliver Queen and Laurel Lance, to 9O21O's Naomi, Teddy, and Dixon, we are loving the nostalgic treatment of our favorite shows. This was certainly a creative way to pump us up for The Carrie Diaries, but we've got some burning questions for you, CW. What is Dean holding up off screen? And where are the 8-bit photos of The Vampire Diaries, Beauty and the Beast, and Nikita? Go back in time to the 80s when The Carrie Diaries premieres on Monday at 8 ET/PT on The CW. • 'The Killing' Season 3: Meet A Whole Roster of New Characters
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 09, 2013
The Killing still has yet to be renewed for a third season by AMC, but even so, a whole roster of new characters has just hit the web for the not-yet-official season. And when we say new, we mean it. AMC is yet to respond to Hollywood.com's request for comment, but check out the never-before-seen people who Linden and Holder will deal with if/when the show gets a Season 3: Tom Seward is a thirty-something Neanderthal on death row for the murder of his wife. In what seems likely to be his last month on earth, he takes a (perhaps ill-advised) stroll down memory lane, tripping on the secrets he’s left behind like a trail of bloody bread crumbs. Danette Lutz, in her late 30s, is probably the worst mother since Mo’Nique in Precious. How bad is she? She could easily forget she even is a mother until her 15-year-old, Kallie, goes missing. Bullet is a 16-year-old tough guy who looks out for all the local street girls. But there’s more to him than meets the eye: Most significantly, he’s… a she. Alton Singleterry is a Machiavellian young gangbanger who seems to think that death row is party to which he can RSVP "no". Ed Skinner is Linden’s old partner, a middle-aged Dudley Do-Right whose record is spotless, save for a brief extramarital fling with a co-worker. (Could that co-worker have been Linden? Hmm… ) Tiny is the underage female hooker to whom Bullet’s heart belongs. The only trouble is (well, the only trouble aside from her being an underage hooker!), Tiny’s crazy about someone else. Twitch is yet another JV hooker, a wannabe star with a rap sheet that’s longer than he is tall. Production on Season 3 is set to begin on February 25... that is, if AMC finally decides to gives it the go-ahead. What are they waiting for? And who do you think will play the new faces?
