  • Taylor Swift and Fun. Announced in First Wave of Grammy Performers
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 09, 2013
Music’s biggest night wouldn’t be complete without a roster of performances by the who’s-who of the music industry, and the first wave of the 55th Grammy Awards performers have just been announced. Current Grammy nominees The Black Keys, fun., Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift will take the stage Sunday, February 10, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J will return as host of the telecast. This will be the first time The Black Keys and fun. will perform at the Grammys, while Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and Swift are veterans of the awards show. More performers, presenters, and special segments will be announced soon. While each artist/group is worthy of taking the Grammys' stage, we have our own ideas about what we'd like to see them perform. The Grammys is not a place to fall flat — performance-wise, vocal-wise, or just literally on your face — so heed our advice! Taylor Swift We're loving the edgier tone you are taking in your music and music videos... time to bring that to the stage! We get that your comfort zone is singing sweetly while strumming on your guitar but as your style grows and matures, so should your performances. PS: If you do end up winning, please leave your "Oh my goodness, I'm so shocked, you guys!" face at home. Please. Rihanna Whatever you do, do not bring back your weird, karaoke bar visualizer background. That was so strange we still don't know what to make of it. Also, put on some real clothes this time. That oversized, lumpy jacket did not do you any favors. And please, oh Lord please, leave Chris Brown at home. Although we know asking is probably futile... The Black Keys We know you're already preparing your new album, and we would love to hear a sample of it in your performance. Anything, even just a tiny tease, would be amazing. fun. "Some Nights" would be a safe, easy choice to perform, but, frankly, you played it to death in 2012. New material, s'il vous plait!  Mumford & Sons You really have your 2011 Grammy performance to thank for your current success, seeing as that was the night everyone learned who you were. Now you've just got to keep the momentum by putting on another rockin' show. Just don't f**k it up.  The 55th annual Grammy Awards will be on Sunday, February 10 from 8 – 11:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. • 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' In New Timeslot: No Leno Attacks?
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 09, 2013
After a decade at midnight, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live made the move to the 11:35 PM time slot Tuesday night, becoming a direct rival of The Late Show With David Letterman and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. While a few jokes about his new foes were expected, Kimmel didn’t slam either Letterman or Leno (for once). Instead, he was on his best behavior and kept the jokes about himself... and Honey Boo Boo, because, of course. Kimmel did poke some fun at his 25-minute move, saying, "I’m now 25 minutes closer to my lifelong dream of hosting The View." But he took a minute to get serious, and while he didn't outright acknowledge his new rivals, he did hint at the task before him. "I understand what’s at stake here and I don’t take that lightly," Kimmel said. He then brought the comedy back with his segment, Lie Witness News, where he asked random people on the street if they had been watching his new show — even though it was impossible since it hadn't aired yet.  Kimmel also brought back a fan favorite segment, Celebrities Read Mean Tweets, and recruited a whole roster of famous folks to read insulting tweets about themselves. The reactions from Selena Gomez, Eric Stonestreet, Simon Cowell, Jessica Biel and more were hilarious, but Bryan Cranston took the cake. "'Malcolm in the Middle? More like mushy in the middle. Lose some weight, Heisenberg!' I had a good chuckle over that one," Cranston said with a smile. Then he went full on Breaking Bad: "I’m coming for you, @TXGRIZZ."  Jennifer Aniston had the honor of being the first guest on Kimmel's first post-move show, but did some serious damage — joking that she thought she was the last guest on his old show, she came out with a sledgehammer, and completely destroyed his new desk. "That wasn't a very well-built desk, was it?" Aniston said. She did bring along some great photos from her vacation with fiancé Justin Theroux, Kimmel, and John Krasinski; including photos from the men's spa day. Aniston also proved her haircutting expertise (she is the woman who brought us The Rachel, after all), and gave Kimmel quite the professional trim on camera. Check out a clip below: Musical guest No Doubt performed "Push and Shove," the title track from their new album, and closed out the night with a nostalgic performance of "Hella Good." The lights, the wardrobe, the dancing, and that iconic tune took the audience back to the early aughts... in a great way. Still, Kimmel's show didn't feel complete without a least one Leno knock. C'mon, Kimmel — time to take a page from Conan. • '50 Shades of Grey' Screenwriter: 'It Will Be Rated NC-17. It Will Be Raunchy'
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 08, 2013
If you had any doubts the big screen adaptation of E L James’ 50 Shades of Grey wouldn’t quite live up to the blush-inducing heat of the written sex scenes, you can rest easy. Screenwriter Kelly Marcel is adamant about keeping the film as raunchy and sexy as possible. “We are 100 percent going there,” Marcel told The Sunday Times. "It will be rated NC-17. It will be raunchy." Well, that seems to be news to the studio behind the upcoming movie, Universal Pictures. “A screenplay has not yet been written, a rating has not been designated, and we have no further comment,” a rep for the studio said. We can understand wanting to keep the movie as erotic as possible (seeing as how the book is commonly referred to as "mommy porn"), especially since that’s what all the fans will be flocking to the theaters to see. But a movie with the rating of NC-17 is likely to hurt more than help, at least from the box office point of view. Most of the nation's largest movie theater chains often refuse to play films with the restrictive, adults-only ratings. And you can actually fit a lot in under an R rating. Perhaps the NC-17 rating is just a tad bit unnecessary. What do you think? Should 50 Shades be NC-17? Would you see it if it was? Sound off in the comments! • Justin Bieber Pulling Double Duty on 'SNL,' Hosting and Performing Feb. 9
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 08, 2013
After tweeting Monday that he might be pulling double duty on Saturday Night Live, Justin Bieber has been confirmed as the Feb. 9 host and musical guest, Billboard reports. This won't be Bieber's first time on the long-running comedy show. He previously appeared on SNL in April of 2010, when he performed "U Smile" for Tina Fey in a sketch. This will be his first time hosting. Bieber joins the growing list of double duty host/performers of SNL. Bruno Mars most recently, Christina Aguilera, and Elton John have all had the honor before him. We all know how Bieber performs musically, but how do you think the teen pop sensation will fare as host? • James Franco Lip Syncs to Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' and Things Get... Weird.
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 08, 2013
You really, truly, absolutely cannot predict what James Franco will do next. And the latest random antic to hit the web from Franco? A video of him lip syncing Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" with rumored-girlfriend and Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson... as well as a guy in drag pretending to be Benson pretending to be Bieber's maybe-still-girlfriend and Franco's and Benson's Spring Breakers co-star Selena Gomez? Whew. There's a lot of confusion here. Just watch the video below: So yeah... that's apparently a thing. While the video started out silly enough, things got kind of... weird... at the end there. We're still not sure what to make of it. And the description of the video, "He deleted it but it was too late," doesn't really clear things up for us. As for the unknown third party, could that be Bieber's "swagger coach" Ryan Good (who, coincidentally, has also been linked with Benson)? Or maybe it's Franco's brother, Dave? Whoever it is, nice try: we can tell you're a dude, dude. • 'Transformers 4' Says Adios to Shia LaBeouf, Adds Jack Reynor
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 08, 2013
After blowing up all of Chicago, we can't even imagine what city, landmark, or galactic location will be destroyed next, but we do know what actors will be in the next Transformers installment. Michael Bay announced the addition of Jack Reynor to the upcoming Transformers 4 in a statement posted on his website Tuesday afternoon. "I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy," Bay wrote. "Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie What Richard Did. This kid is the real deal." In addition to the casting news, Bay also revealed that the new movie is not a reboot as it has been rumored to be. "Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net," Bay wrote. "This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy." Amid controversy of a possible script leak, which Bay denies is the real script, confirmation of another new face to the franchise certainly peaks our interest. How do you think the world will look 4 years after the events of Transformers: Dark of the Moon? Who will Wahlberg and Reynor be playing? • 'Supernatural' Star Jensen Ackles and Wife Danneel Harris Expecting First Child
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 07, 2013
Looks like it’s time to trade in fighting ghosts, angels, demons, purgatory, and the devil himself for spit-up, naptime, and bottles. Jensen Ackles and wife Danneel Harris are expecting a child, People reports. The Supernatural star (Dean Winchester), 34, and his wife (who most recently played Jenn on Retired at 35, Rachel Gatina on One Tree Hill, and Vanessa in the Harold & Kumar franchise), 33, got married in May of 2010 in the actor’s hometown of Dallas, Texas, and are expecting their first baby later this year. The couple will walk the People’s Choice Awards red carpet on Wednesday, where Ackles and his hit show Supernatural are nominated in several categories. The dad-to-be will also present at the show. Congratulations to the happy couple on all accounts! Ackles joins the growing list of fathers on the Supernatural set. Co-star Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) and guest star/wife Genevieve (demon Ruby) welcomed their son, Thomas Colton, in 2012, and Misha Collins (angel Castiel) has two kids with his wife Victoria Vantoch. • 'The Host': 3 New Posters Focus On Free Will
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 07, 2013
New posters for The Host were just released, and while there is a spotlight on love, the main focus is free will. That is fitting, since the newest big-screen adaptation from Stephenie Meyer is about an alien invasion, and the parisitic race takes over the minds of humans. Free will and the ability to choose for yourself is lost, and for that the remaining humans must fight. Check out the posters below: Directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Jake Abel, and Diane Kruger, The Host hits theaters March 29, 2013. • 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1': Watch 8 Minutes of Never-Before-Seen Footage
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 07, 2013
Just because the Twilight saga ended in theaters with the long-anticipated release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 doesn’t mean the Twilight phenomenon ends with it. You can watch eight minutes of never-before-seen footage of the first chapter of the final story when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Extended Edition debuts on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Download on March 2nd. The new footage contains new and extended scenes added back into the film by director Bill Condon, along with his optional audio commentary. “As Twilight series devotees know, there was a lot of ground to cover in adapting Breaking Dawn to the screen,” Condon says. “Between the wedding, the honeymoon, the birth, and everything in between, naturally there were things that didn’t make it into our final cut. But I wanted to make sure that for all the Twihards out there, there was a chance to see some of these cut scenes – several of which are fan favorites from the book.” The Twilight saga has held its spot as the top-selling home entertainment franchise since 2008 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 took in $281.3 million in domestic box office sales after its November 18, 2011 release. • Emma Watson Mistaken For ‘Unaccompanied Minor’ In Airport, Wishes She Could Apparate
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Jan 07, 2013
Harry Potter star Emma Watson has that youthful look that most women — in Hollywood and the real world — would kill for. Unfortunately, what is considered a pro in beauty terms can actually cause issues in airport security! Watson tweeted that she was stopped by a TSA agent who thought she was an unaccompanied minor, not a 22-year-old women, in need of an adult guardian. Talk about embarrassing! Clearly, TSA isn't familiar with a little someone named Hermione Granger. Although, seeing as how Watson chopped off her signature long hair as soon as filming wrapped for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, maybe the mistake was an easy one to make... and according to Watson, it's a mistake that has happened before!
