  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Selena Gomez Want You to 'Vote 4 Stuff' This November
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Oct 01, 2012
Election season is upon us, and you know what that means — yep, that means it’s time to vote. It also means it’s time for celebrities to make Internet videos encouraging you to vote.  Last week saw the debut of expletive-laden anti-Romney “Wake the F—k Up” video featuring Samuel L. Jackson, and today the decidedly less partisan “Vote 4 Stuff” campaign video was unleashed online. (Jonah Hill  tweeted it, so young people will definitely see it.) The video features a slew of stars ranging from comedian Sarah Silverman, to acting powerhouse Leonado DiCaprio, to the original big screen Spider-Man Tobey Maguire. Instead of isolating half(ish) of the entertainment world by choosing a side in the upcoming election, the Vote 4 Stuff team cleverly avoids mention of any politician’s name or political party at all. Rather than picking a side, the stars simply want you to vote for “stuff.” You can vote for anything at all, they say. Anything. Here are just a few highlights from the video of what some celebs would vote for: "Dogs would pick up my poop with a plastic bag. See how they like it." — Jonah Hill "Vote to keep tigers out of schools!" — Zac Efron "I vote yes to anything Zac Efron says." — Selena Gomez "End. Dubstep. Now." — Joseph Gordon Levitt (Side note: I vote yes to anything JGL says, but why you hate on dubstep, JGL? Why?!) "North Carolina and South Carolina would have to come up with their own original unique names. I think that should apply to the Dakotas as well." — Edward Norton Some things I would love to vote for: a Magic Mike sequel, chocolate, JGL liking dubstep, and Seth MacFarlane to surpass my already high expectations and do a fantastic job hosting the Oscars. Now, obviously you can’t actually vote for these things (bummer). But you can vote on real, equally important things, like jobs, marriage equality, climate change, foreign policy, women’s reproductive rights, immigration, worker’s rights, taxes, teachers’ wages, better education, etc. What would you vote for? The Vote 4 Stuff campaign is asking for 30-second videos about the stuff that is important to you. Your tweets, pics, and videos will be incorporated into the Vote 4 Stuff campaign later this month. Here's the video. Enjoy, laugh, vote.  Follow Sydney on Twitter @SydneyBucksbaum [Photo Credit: Vote 4 Stuff] More: Samuel L. Jackson Says: 'Wake the F--k Up!' • It Was The Weekend Of Weddings: Who Got Married?

It may not be June, but that sure didn’t stop a bevy of stars from tying the knot this past weekend. From a surprise romance in Italy to a country-themed hoedown near Nashville, celebrities said their vows, cut their cakes, and danced the night away in a number of styles on Saturday and Sunday. But just who said their “I dos” and to whom? Let’s say our congratulations to these five lucky-in-love couples: Not So Les Miserable The Dark Knight Rises’ Anne Hathaway married Adam Schulman on Saturday evening at a private estate in Big Sur, California; they celebrated with over 150 family and friends. Hathaway wore a dress designed especially for her by her good friend Valentino. The couple, engaged since last November, had dated for three years prior. So You Think You Can Marry? According to the BBC, Cat Deeley (35), So You Think You Can Dance host, married Irish comedian Patrick Kielty (41) on Saturday. The top secret ceremony, planned months in advance, was intimate with only 60 friends and family in attendance at St. Isidore’s College Church in Rome, Italy. In fact, Deeley and Kielty didn’t even tell their friends until only a few days before tying the knot and paid for their guests to fly out to celebrate with them – how generous! The couple met 10 months ago while presenting at the BBC1 talent show Fame Academy and have been together ever since. Married Again ... And Again! While Stanley Tucci (51) and Felicity Blunt (31) secretly wed in June, they finally celebrated with family, friends, and celebrities galore in London on Saturday, People reports. The bride’s sister, Looper's Emily Blunt, served as a bridesmaid while Boardwalk Empire’s Steve Buscemi performed best man duties. Tucci and Blunt had announced their engagement last November. Tucci’s first wife, Kate, died in 2009 from breast cancer. Kings of Leon Officially Off the Market Jared Followill (25) was the last single member of band Kings of Leon. The bassist wed his girlfriend, model Martha Patterson (21), on Saturday 40 miles outside of Nashville in a country-themed wedding, People reports. Followill expressed his newlywed bliss on Twitter by tweeting prior to the ceremony, "Today, I get married. It's the biggest step I've ever taken. I've dreamed about this day since I was a little girl." Then, a day later, "Aaaaaand I'm married. Happiest man in the world." From the Runway to the Aisle Lisa D'Amato (30), America's Next Top Model Cycle 5 contestant and Cycle 17 All-Stars winner, married her fiancé Adam Friedman (37) on Sunday in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Castle in Hollywood Hills, reports E! Online. The couple celebrated with a few of D’Amato’s ANTM friends like Bre Scullark and Alexandria Everett, as well as Celebrity Rehab’s Dr. Drew Pinsky. • '90210' Actress Reveals Sexual Assualt
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 28, 2012
AnnaLynne McCord revealed at the Life Is Love charity event in Los Angeles on September 22 that she had been sexually assaulted. Us Weekly reveals that the 90210 actress opened up in her speech about a time when she was taken advantage of because she felt she didn’t have the voice to say no. "Has anyone ever been raped? Sexually abused? Not said 'no' when you felt you didn't have the right to?" McCord said to the audience. "I know what it feels like…It happened to me once by somebody that I knew, and it is a very interesting thing to feel that you do not have the voice to say 'no.' It wasn't an attack or anything like that -- I just had no voice. I did not know how to say, 'I don't want this. Please do not do this to me.'" The event, attended by her costars Jessica Stroup, Matt Lanter, Shenae Grimes, Justin Deeley, and Ryan Eggold, benefitted Somaly Mam Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to end modern day slavery and human trafficking worldwide. The organization is one with which McCord is familiar, as she goes to Cambodia every year to visit with other victims of sexual assault. In a disturbing instance of art-imitating-life, McCord’s character on 90210, Naomi Clarke, was also a victim of sexual assault, when at the end of the second season she was raped by her teacher. He was eventually brought to justice. Follow @Sydney Bucksbaum on Twitter. • Andrew Garfield, Marc Webb Swing Back for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 28, 2012
After rebooting Sony Pictures’ biggest superhero franchise this summer with The Amazing Spider-Man to a total $750 million worldwide, appropriately-named director Marc Webb is back for another round of web-slinging action. He has been confirmed as the director of the upcoming sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2, despite a complicated contract dispute with Fox Searchlight due to his deal for (500) Days of Summer – namely, that he owed them another movie, according to Variety. Early reports are saying that he will agree to do two movies with Fox Searchlight if he directs The Amazing Spider-Man 2 first. Avi Arad of Arad Productions is set to produce with Matt Tolmach. Andrew Garfield is also set to return for the film as Peter Parker, with leading lady Emma Stone in talks to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy. Filming will begin early 2013 and will hit theaters in 3D on May 2, 2014. • Kelly Osbourne Apologizes for Her $250,000 Emmy Manicure
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 28, 2012
Nail trends are taking Hollywood by storm, so much so that during the Emmys red carpet coverage last Sunday, E! debuted their mani-cam—a miniature red carpet celebs could “walk” their fingers down to show off their edgy, pretty, or crazy nail fashion. While New Girl’s Zooey Deschanel showed off her nail art television sets and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland walked her inverted French manicured fingers down the red carpet, Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne simultaneously wowed and enraged viewers with her ultra-glam fingertips. In the mani-cam, she appeared to be sporting edgy, black, sparkly nails — a nice contrast to her feminine light purple dress and matching hair. However, Osbourne shocked viewers when she explained she was actually wearing a special polish created by high-end jeweler Azature. The 0.5 oz. bottle costs $250,000 dollars and contains 267 carats of black diamonds. Yeah, you read that right. One nail polish bottle… … half an ounce of liquid… … a quarter of a million dollars. … um, what?! After an outpouring of criticism from fans and viewers for sporting what is literally the most expensive manicure in the history of the world, Osbourne issued an apology on her Twitter, though admitted she didn’t regret the choice since it was a “once in a lifetime experience” and “it made [her] feel like a queen!” While Osbourne didn’t buy the bottle, or pay anything at all for her manicure — she explained Twitter that she was "picked to wear it" — the very idea of wearing diamond nail polish remains ridiculously, insanely unnecessary. So, we rounded up a few other ways to spend $250,000 that might be just a little bit more worth it. If you’re really itching to spend that much money, here are some ways to get more bang for your buck: For $107,000: Buy Justin Bieber’s Car Although you may not enjoy it as much you might think… For $14,990: Rent Virgin Tycoon Richard Branson’s Australian Island, Makepeace The heart-shaped island off the coast of Noosa can accommodate up to 22 people. Now that’s what I call a vacation! For $100,000: Bid On Autographed Paul McCartney Acoustic Guitar But be quick — you only have 22 days left to bid! For $200,000: Plan Nuptials for Your Pet Some people really love their pets. For $255,000: Buy the World’s Most Expensive Bottle of Liquor This bottle of Spluch tequila is solid platinum and white gold. For that much money, the tequila better be damn smooth. I’m just sayin'. For $508 per pound: Snack on Gold-Encrusted Chocolate These Delafee chocolates have edible 24-karat gold flakes applied to each individual praline by hand. • 75th Annual Hunger Games Reaping Has Ended
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 28, 2012
The names have been chosen, and the odds were ever in the favor of 11 actors who round out the rest of the cast of the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. Joining the ranks of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, and Donald Sutherland, these names were released by Lionsgate in one big fell swoop, quite the opposite of how they oh-so-slowly announced new additions such as Sam Claflin as heartthrob Finnick O’Dair and Jena Malone as lethal Johanna Mason over the past few months. The new cast members (listed in full below) make up the rest of the (SPOILER ALERT) tributes who previously won their respective Hunger Games and will now be forced to compete again. This all-star version is for the Quarter Quell, the 75th anniversary of the Capitol’s defeat over the rebelling Districts and the resulting annual battle-to-the-death competition. Catching Fire has already started shooting in Georgia this month, before moving to Hawaii to shoot the tropical arena in which the bloody competition takes place. The film will hit theaters next Thanksgiving. • Samuel L. Jackson Says: 'Wake the F**k Up!'
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 27, 2012
Last summer, the legendary bad-ass Samuel L. Jackson took his talents to the realm of “children’s” literature by narrating the audio version of Adam Mansbach's profanity-ridden lullaby, Go The F**k To Sleep. The book, which was styled after Margaret Wise Brown's classic bedtime tale Goodnight Moon and described as a "children's book for adults," chronicles the challenge parents and babysitters alike face when their kids just won't go the f**k to sleep. (Which is literally the worst thing. Ever.) And now that election season is upon us, Jackson has made an about face on his message — he wants Americans to Wake the F--k Up! His new video (NSFW...but do we really need to warn you?) tells the story of a little girl who is frustrated when her family -- who was so proactive a mere four years ago in the presidential election -- doesn't seem to care about the upcoming showdown between Obama and Romney. While his video is very clearly pro-Obama (arguably more anti-Romney than pro-Obama), it reminds us that regardless of whether you will be voting Democrat or Republican this November, everyone needs to wake the f--k up and know the issues. We may argue on every other facet of politics, but that's one thing we can agree upon. [Photo Credit: WTFU2012.com] More: Attention 'Harry Potter' Fans: J.K. • NeNe Leakes: Why 'The New Normal' Is Not Just 'The Gay Show'
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 27, 2012
After a wildly entertaining guest stint on Glee as insult-hurling, Olympian-turned-swim-coach Roz Washington, Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes defied reality expectations and joined The New Normal as a regular, playing the wisecracking, fabulous Rocky. And when we caught up with the reality-star-slash-serious-actress before Tuesday's new episode of the series, "Nanagasm," Leakes had a lot to say about her new series. (After all, when has Leakes not had an opinion?) Read below to see our chat with Leakes, during which she discussed the future of The New Normal, what the show is really about, and what she thought when she first read the part of Rocky. How did you get involved with The New Normal? [Glee creator] Ryan Murphy interviewed me months ago and asked me if I would play Coach Roz Washington on Glee. And after that run, he asked me if I would do his new show called The New Normal and play the character Rocky, and of course I said yes. What was your first impression of Rocky? My first impression of this character is that it is for a white lady. The first time I read it, that’s what I thought. You’ll definitely see Rocky be a part of The New Normal more often and she definitely will change and we’ll see more family members of Rocky’s. What can we look forward to on the show? As the season goes on, you definitely can look forward to love, and comedy, and laughs. We’re hoping that you see the whole cast evolve, so it’s going to be an interesting season. We just want everybody to know that our show is about love. It’s not “the gay show.” It’s about love, it’s about comedy, it’s about family. We talk about current issues, things that are happening right now. I’d like to see Rocky have a love interest, hopefully. I’ll talk to the writers; hopefully they will find a love for Rocky. And how do you feel about the reviews you’ve been getting? I think we’ve been getting great reviews. I absolutely love the show. I don’t want to be biased because I’m on the show, so I ask people who watch the show. People just walk up to me on the street and say, “Hey, I saw the show, I love that show.” So I think we’re going to do well. Any chance of an encore performance on Glee? I don’t know that [I’ll be back on Glee anytime soon]. Right now I’m currently shooting a new Real Housewives of Atlanta, and so we don’t have a lot of time right now to squeeze Glee in, but we’re hoping. Glee is just across the parking lot from The New Normal, so all they gotta do is call me and I can just walk over there. • Jennifer Aniston, Keith Urban, and More Melt Hearts in 'Hey St. Jude' Video
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 26, 2012
We certainly enjoy when our favorite celebrities commit a major faux pas, have a wardrobe malfunction, or generally behave like children. But when stars use their fame to help others, there is nothing better. In a heartwarming bit of news, Jennifer Aniston, Malin Akerman, Lady Antebellum, Jack Nicholson, Keith Urban, and Ellen DeGeneres are just a few of the many celebrities who make an appearance in Hey St. Jude, a music video debuted by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The video, appropriately set to the tune of the popular Beatles’ song "Hey Jude," hit YouTube on Wednesday as a part of the hospital’s year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary. The video was created to raise money for St. Jude to help kids battling cancer and other deadly diseases. After watching the video, you can donate $5, buy the #heystjude shirt worn by the kids and celebrities in the video for $35, thank the stars who appeared in the video, or share it on Twitter or Facebook. • Neil Patrick Harris Is Writing a Memoir: What Should He Include in It?
By: Sydney Bucksbaum Sep 26, 2012
Neil Patrick Harris announced on Tuesday that he will begin writing his memoir due in 2014. The still-untitled book about his life will be "a work of imaginative nonfiction that delivers an interactive, nonlinear reading experience that breaks the boundaries of conventional memoir,” according to THR. The book will most likely touch on his relationship with David Burtka, their twins, and his acting career success on Doogie Howser, M.D., Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, and How I Met Your Mother. Celebrity memoirs have been flooding the market recently. Even Harris’ HIMYM co-star Josh Radnor is writing a memoir about his childhood and drug experiences. How can Harris make his stand out above the rest? We decided to help him out and list the topics he must include for us to be totally satisfied. Hosting the Tonys We’ve seen Harris host the Tony Awards three times already. Why has he come back so many times? Yes, we're entertained, but there must be some secret perks we don’t know about… Playing himself in Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle His character was so insanely out there, we’ve got to wonder: Are there any kernels of truth to it? Barney Stinson’s Bro Code Has Harris tried any of his character’s signature plays in real life? If so, have they worked? Magic Much like his character on HIMYM, Harris is known for loving magic. If he could pull off the single greatest magic trick, what would it be? The Smurfs 2 Why? Why make us sit through a sequel of this? We will gladly sit through a sequel to Doctor Horrible, however.
