America Ferrera is enjoying every minute of celebrating her “pregnant body”.
The 35-year-old actress is expecting her second child with husband Ryan Piers Williams, and looked stunning in a custom Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition red dress as she attended the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday night (February 9, 2020).
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet at the awards ceremony, America said that she’s accepted every inch of her pregnancy curves – and loves showing them off in such stylish ensembles.
“I happen to love my pregnant body. I mean, the first time I was pregnant I was being in my body in a totally different way and it feels wonderful to celebrate that,” she smiled.
As for how else this pregnancy is different from her first, the former Ugly Betty star added: “It’s different. It’s easier in that you kind of know what to expect, but different because every pregnancy is different.”
America teamed her Oscars gown with a gold headdress, which gave her look a “warrior queen vibe”.
And while the accessory acted as a tribute to her How To Train Your Dragon character Astrid, it also was a sweet reference to the Superstore actress’ own heritage.
“For tonight, I wanted to say farewell to my character Astrid, so I definitely sort of wanted a warrior queen vibe,” she said. “But the headband I’m wearing is actually inspired by the warriors of my own indigenous tribe in Honduras.
