Amy Schumer, the funny-girl behind her own Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer, has had a fling or two — who hasn’t? The 35-year-old actress is known for being excruciatingly candid about her sex life, and while she’s definitely snagged more than a couple hotties, the comedian admitted she found her first real boyfriend at age 34.

In an interview with Marie ClaireSchumer admitted that while she’s been in romantic relationships before, she feels like she only recently found her first real boyfriend. Since late 2015, the actress has been dating Chicago-based furniture designer, Ben Hansich.

“I feel like Ben is the first guy who’s really been my boyfriend,” she said. “There are guys who, if they heard me say that, would want to punch me in the face, but yeah, it’s the truth.”

Since love is so new to Schumer, she does seem to be giving herself a bit of a hard time. Hansich has already crossed multiple relationship milestones with the comedian, though, probably not as quickly as Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston, but it still counts. Hansich has met Amy’s friends, famous friends and family, but she’s still a bit nervous about it all.

“Being in love is the scariest thing in the world. You want to f–king cry and scream. I can’t handle it. Every time we say goodbye, I think, ‘This will have been a nice last week together.’ Or I tell myself nothing is real and he’s going to leave me and tell me he never loved me,” she says. “I feel so bad for him. How exhausting it must be dating me.”

Aw! Poor Amy. Her story is rather inspiring to those of us who are looking for love. From the minute we hit our late 20’s, society starts telling us we’ve got to be married or at least on the way. If society isn’t telling us, the Facebook posts every other day about some random person from high school getting engaged or having kids sure does, but maybe we’re all like Amy. Love finds you when it finds you, and for some that’s 35; for some that’s 55; for some you’re already a senior citizen when you find your soul mate.

Do your thing, ladies! Always, always do you.
