Alicia Keys & Beyoncé Just Released The Most Powerful #BlackLivesMatter Statement Yet

As a powerful response to the latest police shootings that took the lives of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, celebrities come together in the video “23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are Black In America.” The video, organized by Alicia Keys and released by .Mic, features stars raising awareness about all of the innocent black victims that were shot by the police and what they were doing at their time of death.

The almost 3-minute video begins with Alicia Keys describing the reason behind Sandra Bland’s death as “failing to signal a lane change.” Beyoncé comes on next describing the cause of Philando Castile’s death as simply “riding in your girlfriend’s car with a child in the back seat.” Celebrities that follow include Chris Rock, Pink, Common, Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, A$AP Rocky, Adam Levine, Rihanna and so many more.

The #blacklivesmatter hashtag has already gone viral across social media, but this heartbreaking PSA is a new part of the movement that is uniting everyone together. Stars are really taking a stand and demanding that change be made. By lending their voice to those who no longer have one, they’re hoping to stop any more lives from being tragically lost.
