Billie Eilish went viral on Sunday night (February 9, 2020), thanks to her hilarious facial expressions throughout the 2020 Oscars.
The 18-year-old singer was among the famous faces in the audience at the Dolby Theatre, but appeared less than impressed when Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph performed a medley of hilarious costume-inspired songs as they took to the stage to present the award for Best Costume Design.
Despite Little Women director Greta Gerwig grinning as the camera panned to her while Maya and Kristen belted out Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made For Walkin’, Prince’s U Got The Look, Madonna’s Vogue and Chris De Burgh’s Lady In Red, Billie wasn’t quite so excited – and was caught making a grimacing face when she was in the shot.
The snap quickly went viral and turned into numerous memes, with fans using Billie’s confused grimace alongside captions such as “Me remembering tomorrow is Monday”, and “when he says his wife gave up her amazing career so he could win an oscar one day”.
Billie was later caught looking equally unimpressed when Eminem made a surprise appearance at the awards to perform his 2003 Oscar-winning hit Lose Yourself – with her face again being turned into memes.
She wasn’t the only one who didn’t appear to be enjoying Eminem’s rendition – The Irishman director Martin Scorsese was filmed apparently struggling to stay awake during the performance.
