Rapper Cardi B has turned beauty expert online after sharing the recipe for her DIY hair mask to help isolated fans take care of their locks.
The I Like It hitmaker, who is of Dominican, Trinidadian, and Spanish descent, took to her Instagram Story timeline on Monday (June 8, 2020) to reveal her natural hair texture, and the secret mix she uses to lock in moisture.
She broke down her beauty secrets, blending up avocado, argan oil, mayonnaise, black castor oil, olive oil, eggs, honey, and bananas to make a creamy paste, which she uses on both herself and her daughter, Kulture.
“OK guys, so this is really how my hair is…,” a makeup-free Cardi explained.
“My daughter’s hair is curly – she’s got curls and little coils. But my s**t just don’t get curly at all, it’s just straight like this. But I still need moisture! All the good things that you put in your body, you’ve got to put in your hair.”
Cardi showed how she applied the mixture to her hair and returned hours later after washing it off to display her “nice and shiny” locks.
“The end results of all that s**t I put on my hair earlier,” she captioned a photo of her sleek look. “Treat your hair ladies.”
The hip-hop star then encouraged her fellow women of color not to be ashamed to rely on wigs to protect their real locks, adding, “It helps with hair growth ALOT (sic)!”
