Insurmountable tragedy struck the Fairmount Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, Canada when guest Cory Monteith, known best as the affably clueless Finn Hudson on Glee, was discovered dead on Saturday according to The Hollywood Reporter. At only 31 years of age, Monteith’s sudden passing is especially heartbreaking.

While the actor and singer has been vocal about his personal history of drug abuse, having checked into rehab in March and once prior at the age of 19, a cause of death has yet to be determined. The police, however, have ruled out any “foul play” in attachment to the episode.

Monteith was discovered by the hotel staff sometime after 12 PM on Saturday, following his intended checkout time (Monteith first arrived at the establishment on July 6). Reports state that Monteith spent the previous evening with friends but returned to the hotel early Saturday.

Officials are still undertaking investigations and reaching out to Monteith’s family.
