Cotillard suffers pin stab during French cultural honour

The French actress, who took home gold for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose, was made an officer in the Order of Arts and Letters in a ceremony in Paris on Monday (15Mar10), alongside director Tim Burton.

But Cotillard was left nursing a minor injury as Mitterrand attempted to attach the green and gold accolade to her chest – only to stick the pin into the star’s flesh.

However, the actress managed to laugh off the mishap as Mitterrand offered his arm for support and apologised profusely for his mistake.
