Eminem and Kid Cudi blast ‘dirty cops’ in fiery new collaboration

Eminem has teamed up for a fiery new collaboration with Kid Cudi, taking aim at New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, and police brutality towards African Americans.

The new song, The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady, dropped on Friday (July 10, 2020), and is their first-ever collaboration.

Eminem and Cudi trade topical bars on subjects such as “dirty cops”, and the “debate” over whether or not to wear masks. Eminem raps, “Prayers to George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery/ How the f**k is it that so many cops are dirty?/ Stop, man, please, officer, I’m sorry/ But I can’t breathe when I got you on top of me/ Your goddamn knee’s on my carotid artery.”

Eminem also took aim at NFL star Drew Brees, who criticized fellow players for taking a knee during the National Anthem ahead of football games, rapping: “I had hoop dreams, now I shoot 3s. Got a lil’ green, but I don’t do weed. Purp nor lean, that’s Tunechi. That’s New Orleans, F**k Drew Brees.”

Adventures of Moon Man & Slim Shady is produced by Dot da Genius, Eminem, and J Gramm and is the latest music to drop by the star following his surprise release earlier this year of Music to be Murdered To, the Detroit Rap God – his 10th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

The song arrives just over two months after Cudi tweeted at Eminem asking for help. Cudi, is currently working on his upcoming seventh studio album Entergalactic, which is expected to be released next summer.

A few days earlier his excited daughter, Vada, 10, shared the news that her dad and the Grammy award-winning rapper had teamed up.

“Hi! It’s Vada, I’m here to say that my daddy’s new single, ‘The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady,’ is coming on Friday! Check it out!” Vada said in a video Kid posted on Twitter.
