George Clooney Praises Teri Hatcher for Sex Abuse Confession

Oscar winner George Clooney has high praise for neighbor Teri Hatcher after she courageously confessed to the sexually abuse she suffered as a child in the pages of style magazine Vanity Fair.

Clooney, who has been romantically linked to the Desperate Housewives star of late, was stunned by Hatcher‘s revelations–but he commends her for talking about it.

In the Vanity Fair article, the actress reveals she was sexually abused by her uncle, who she helped jail in 2002 after learning he has molested other teenage girls.

In a statement, released yesterday, impressed Clooney writes, “It is to Teri’s credit that she’s telling a very courageous story to help others.”

But Clooney is keen to dispel reports that he’s the lover who jilted her before the Vanity Fair interview–leaving her emotional and open for journalist Leslie Bennetts.

Hatcher told Bennetts she decided to go public about her child sex abuse torment after an unnamed lover recently broke her heart.

New York gossip column Page.Six jumped on this item, claiming Clooney was the lover who jilted Hatcher.

He insists, “I know the story is attractive but it isn’t true and it takes away from her brave decision (to speak out).”

Hatcher has also come forward to blast the Page.Six article, stating the Vanity Fair article is being “being obscured by tabloid sensationalism.”

Hatcher’s Uncle Moved to Solitary Confinement

The pedophile uncle of Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has been moved into solitary confinement in a Californian prison amid fears of attacks by fellow prison inmates.

Prison officials fear Richard Hayes Stone, who was jailed in 2002 when Hatcher helped convict him after another girl he abused committed suicide, is a marked man since the details of his crimes appeared in the press.

Hatcher, who is now 41, hid the secret of her abuse for over 30 years and hit the headlines last week when she revealed the traumatic experience in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine.
