Katy Perry Loves Peeing While Standing

Katy Perry goes to great lengths to look great on the red carpet, using a quirky device that allows her to pee standing up when she’s wearing restrictive clothing.

The Roar singer recently stunned at the Met Gala in New York, wearing a form-fitting scarlet tulle dress from designer John Galliano’s Maison MargielaArtisanal‘ collection, but she admits it was a challenge to go to the toilet in the outfit.

“There was a lot of self control, practice, and GoGirls,” she explained during a recent taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “Do you know those little contraptions that you then get to urinate standing up (sic)?”

Katy swears by the product, revealing she also turns to GoGirls on video sets: “I’ve used them in several music videos because I always find myself in this predicament where I have a very extravagant, lavish, unrealistic, unpractical costume on.

“It’s just like a nozzle… you can put around you.”

The singer was among the co-chairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit on 1 May (17), alongside Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen and Vogue style queen Anna Wintour, and she turned heads on the red carpet with a look that featured an embroidered coat, chrome headpiece, and a veil, which featured the title of her new album, Witness.

The 32-year-old accented the eye-catching number with three massive diamond rings by Lorraine Schwartz and topped off the ensemble with red Tabi boots, climbing the stairs with caution as the lengthy train of her dress trailed behind her.

Each year during the Met Gala, attendees are asked to dress according to a specific theme. This year, guests chose ensembles that honor Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo.
