Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson‘s “There’s a New Kid in Town” has never been more relevant. The American Idol winner announced on Twitter last night that her and her husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting a child.
“I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :),” tweeted the singer, who has more than once publicly stated that she wants to start having children.
After playing it coy on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno last week and saying that her and Blackstock weren’t “announcing anything right now,” it looks like Clarkson couldn’t keep her Christmas surprise a secret any longer. There is no news about her due date, as of yet.
This will be the first child for Clarkson and the third child for Blackstock, who has two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage.
(We’re sure Simon Cowell is weeping with happiness.)
