Kris Humphries appeared on Good Morning America this morning with his mom, and spoke about his future plans regarding his basketball career, his foundation, and spending time with his family. Interviewer Josh Elliot made some valiant attempts at getting Kris to reveal his thoughts about his impending divorce from Kim Kardashian, but Kris went to serious lengths to respond to every question with how much basketball means to him, how supremely dedicated he is to it and his family. He was even explicitly asked what he hopes will come of the papers he filed to have his marriage to Kim completely annulled, and Kris just said he’s really not thinking about those kinds of “things” and is really focusing on basketball instead.
He said very little about Kim Kardashian. In fact, he didn’t say her name at all in the entire conversation…which I suppose is what his lawyer told him to do, and something we should have expected. The most he said about anything Kardashian was that he doesn’t watch the show because he’s too busy watching footage from past basketball games (how fun!), and claimed to stay away from the gossip that follows the family. It was a little shocking Elliot dared to ask Kris if he still loved Kim, but Kris was more than happy to take advantage of another opportunity to express his love and devotion to his sport (which doesn’t really seem to love him back, considering he remains a free agent, interestingly enough). It almost seems like Kris is so uninterested in talking about what happened that Elliot felt compelled to REMIND him how his relationship with Kim ended. But overall, I think the reason why Kris seemed so distant and unengaged is because he’s still trying to figure this whole thing out for himself. After all, he is only used to dealing with problems in terms of how many points he can get from solving them.
