Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have a pretty low-key marriage. The couple manages to stay out of the tabloids except when they’re hitting the red carpet or promoting one of their projects. It’s not really surprising that their wedding was one of Hollywood’s least fussy, low-budget weddings ever.
Bell and Shepard haven’t shared much about their nuptials. Shepard once told Jimmy Kimmel that he had the “world’s worst wedding,” and even though the pair got hitched in 2013, they haven’t shared a single photo until now.
During a CBS interview, Bell publicly shared the first photos from the pair’s wedding ceremony. The affair cost about $142 (including gas to drive to the courthouse), and the actress didn’t even wear white. Bell opted for black pants and a top, and Shepard wore a black tuxedo.
“We got married in a tiny room in the Beverly Hills courthouse, and it was still one of the best days of my life,” she said.
Look at them exchanging vows. Bell’s expression is pure love and happiness!
Here they are signing their marriage license.
What a sweet kiss.
Bell and Shepard were engaged for three years before they wed in October of 2013. As gay rights advocates, the couple had prolonged their engagement for three years until the supreme court shut down the Defense of Marriage Act.
