Congratulations are in order for Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott, 26, who is expecting her first child with drummer husband Chris Tyrrell in 2013. The country star announced the happy news on her band’s website and on her own Twitter account.
“Chris & I are excited to announce that our Christmas gift has arrived a little early this year? We are having a BABY! We feel so blessed,” Scott wrote in a blog post titled “Wonderful Christmas News for Hillary & Chris!”
Tyrrell and Scott began dating in 2010 after they met while touring with Tim McGraw, and were engaged in the summer of 2011 when Tyrrell proposed at sunset on a lake in East Tennessee. The couple tied the knot in early 2012 in front of family and close friends, they told People (but not Scott’s bandmates).
Scott has plenty to celebrate, having won plenty of accolades in 2012 with her band. Lady Antebellum took home the 2012 American Music Award for favorite Country band, duo or group, along with a British Country Music Award, an Academy of Country Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, a CMT Music Award, a Teen Choice Award, a CMA Award and a Canadian Country Music Award.
