Larry Hagman Announces Cancer Diagnosis

ALTDallas star Larry Hagman announced on Friday that he had been diagnosed with cancer, but cautioned that it’s highly treatable and that it might not even affect his planned involvement in the 2012 reboot of the series.

He reportedly is still set to put in work reprising his role as the infamous J.R. Ewing when filming begins … on Monday! Hagman is slated to appear in four episodes at the very least.

Hagman, 80, issued the following statement: “As J.R. I could get away with anything — bribery, blackmail and adultery. But I got caught by cancer. I do want everyone to know that it is a very common and treatable form of cancer. I will be receiving treatment while working on the new Dallas series. I could not think of a better place to be than working on a show I love, with people I love. Besides, as we all know, you can’t keep J.R. down!”
