Mulligan will star in My Fair Lady, says Thompson

The An Education star dismissed speculation earlier this month (Mar10) she was set to take the part of Eliza Doolittle, which was made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the 1964 musical.

She told WENN, “I would love to, but I’m not signed on to that.”

But Thompson, who has penned the script for the remake, is adamant Mulligan has landed the part – and producers are still looking for the male lead, Henry Higgins.

She tells Britain’s The Andrew Marr Show, “We have, I think, Carey Mulligan is going to play our Eliza. As yet we don’t know about Higgins. It’s very difficult to cast.”
