Mixers around the world are freaking out as Little Mix member Perrie Edwards took to Instagram Monday morning to announce her pregnancy with boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Perrie Edwards shared pictures of her baby bump writing, “We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!”
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shared the same photos, writing that he is “so grateful and excited to become a dad.”
The announcement comes just over a week after Little Mix released their “Confetti (Remix)” feat. Saweetie, which marks their first project as a trio after Jesy Nelson left the group in December 2020.
What we know about Perrie Edwards’ Relationship with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Around the same time Little Mix rose to fame with their single “Wings” in 2012, Perrie Edwards found herself in the spotlight for dating then One Direction member, Zayn Malik. The pair became engaged in August 2013 but split months after Zayn announced his departure from the group in March 2015.
The following year, Little Mix released the lead single “Shout Out to My Ex” from their fourth album Glory Days, which was rumored to be about Perrie Edwards’ relationship with Zayn Malik.
In 2017, Perrie Edwards confirmed her relationship with professional soccer player, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain by posting a picture of them kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Since then, the pair have been rather open about their relationship, often sharing photos with each other on their Instagram accounts. Perrie Edwards has been seen supporting Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at his soccer games, and he has attended events with her such as the 2019 Brit Awards and was even featured in Little Mix’s 2017 Glory Days: The Documentary.
After Perrie Edwards’ very public and highly scrutinized past relationship, we’re so happy to see that she’s happy.
Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock are both expecting
Little Mix member Leigh-Anne Pinnock announced her pregnancy with Andre Gray (who also happens to be a soccer player) just six days before Perrie Edwards revealed that she was pregnant, as well. In a series of photos shared on Instagram, Leigh-Anne Pinnock posed in a gorgeous green dressed showing off her growing belly.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Andre Gray’s pregnancy announcement comes just months after their lockdown engagement in July 2020.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock shared her excitement for Perrie Edwards’ pregnancy, commenting on the announcement post that she’s “so bloody happy [they] get to go on this journey together!”
Little Mix’s manager Sam Coxy is also expecting and posted a photo Monday morning of her alongside Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, all holding their baby bumps.
Fans noted on Twitter how sweet it was for third Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall to wear baggy clothes in the music video for “Confetti (Remix)” so that Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s and Perrie Edwards’ pregnancies wouldn’t be revealed.

Fans react to Jesy Nelson ‘liking’ Perrie Edwards’ Instagram post
Former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson announced her departure from the group in December 2020, citing the toll that being in the band had taken on her mental health as her reason for leaving. Jesy had been part of the group since it was formed on The X Factor in 2011.
The announcement came after Jesy Nelson had taken an extended break from the group. Jesy said she was ready to embark on the next chapter in her life, which seems to be a solo career as she teased in her recent interview with Cosmopolitan UK.
In an Instagram post, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards said that they supported Jesy Nelson’s decision and that the three of them would continue their journey as Little Mix.
The fact that Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards decided to continue as a trio all while two of them are pregnant makes them even more admirable (and adorable)!
