It’s okay to admit that your ridiculously excited for the return of The Powerpuff Girls. It’s fine. We are too. And, in case you missed it, the Cartoon Network has released an official trailer for the new 15th Anniversary special coming to us January 20, and it’s kind of a big deal.
Now here’s the bad new for some of us. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are coming back but, as the video shows, they’re not exact replicas of the little superheroes we remember. They’re all computer-generated and fancy now, which may not appeal to everybody. It may not seem like a big deal, but the Powerpuff Girls had such a unique look in their traditional 2D format. Now that they are comprised of sugar, spice, everything nice, and a little bit of CGI the visual experience is sure to be different. But chances are, fans young and old will still tune in at the end of the month to see the girls do their thing.
