Producers reduce Sheen’s sitcom to 22 episodes

Shooting on the U.S. comedy was suspended last month (Feb10) when Sheen, who has a history of drug abuse, checked himself into a recovery facility as a “preventative measure”.

But the rehab stint has disrupted TV bosses’ plans to film a total of 24 episodes and they have now cut the seventh season down to 22 shows, reports TMZ.com.

Sheen’s admission into a treatment centre came just weeks after his Christmas Day (25Dec09) arrest in Aspen, Colorado following a bust-up with his wife Brooke Mueller.

The altercation has left Sheen facing a string of felony domestic violence charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty, and he is due to stand trial later this year (10).
