Race gets Broadway extension

The David Mamet play, about a pair of lawyers asked to defend a white man accused of raping a black woman, opened in New York last December (09). The production also stars David Alan Grier and Richard Thomas.

The play has already grossed an estimated $10 million (GBP4 million), far surpassing its $2.5 million (GBP1.6 million) production costs.

And the show has been such a big hit with New York theatre fans, it’s closure has been pushed back from 13 June (10) to 23 August (10).
