‘Prison Break’ Star Robert Knepper Insists Sexual Assault Accusations are Untrue

Actor Robert Knepper has shut down a top costume designer’s allegations of sexual assault, insisting he has been “falsely accused”.

Susan Bertram told The Hollywood Reporter she was harassed by the Prison Break star on the set of the film Gas Food Lodging in 1991, when he allegedly reached under her dress and grabbed her “as hard as he could” while she was dropping clothes off in his trailer.

Bertram also claimed the actor made it clear he wanted to have sex with her, and recalled sobbing about the reported encounter to her then-assistant, Dominique DuBois, who corroborated the story.

However, Knepper is fighting back against the accusations, which he addressed in an Instagram post late on Wednesday (08Nov17).

“I am shocked and devastated to be falsely accused of violence against a woman,” he said. “That’s just not who I am.”

He also mentioned the fact he and his wife Nadine Kary had recently “discussed the pain women have experienced and the bravery they have shown in coming forward” following the current wave of sexual misconduct allegations which surfaced following the initial New York Times expose of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein in early October (17), and thanked his supporters for their “words of support and encouragement” after Bertram’s story was published on Wednesday.
