Zac Efron takes on climate change in Netflix series
In July of 2020, Zac Efron took audiences on a journey of planet preservation in his documentary series Down To Earth With Zac Efron. In this 8-episode season, the actor joined famous wellness expert Darin Olien and traveled around the world to explore new cultures and health techniques.
As Zac and Darin made their way through France, Puerto Rico, London, Iceland, Costa Rica, Peru, and Sardinia, they also learned about the power of nature, green energy, and sustainable living practices.
What sustainability techniques did Zac Efron learn?
Throughout the series, Zac Efron and Darin Olien share first-hand how various eco-friendly communities help preserve the Earth. In the first episode of the series, the 2 visit Iceland and get a look into the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Station, the largest power plant in the world that uses energy to fuel the country’s mechanics. In Lima, Peru, Zac and Darin go to the International Potato Center where farmers preserve the DNA of different species. While Zac gives viewers a look into the lives of sustainable communities, he also highlights various climate change activists and innovators that are trying to make the world a better place.
“We need to start rethinking how we consume everything, from our food to our power,” Zac says in the trailer. “Change has to start somewhere.”
Fortunately, Deadline reports that Down To Earth With Zac Efron has begun filming for season 2 in Australia. There’s no word for a release date yet.

Zac Efron has always been vocal about sustainability
The actor and singer has used his fame for good, posting about the importance of taking care of the Earth. On Earth Day 2020, Zac posted to Instagram in support of Discovery Channel’s Great Global Cleanup event. In the post, he shares the significance of being kind to one another and the planet we inhibit:
“Happy Earth Day! I have always been in awe of the magic and mystery of Mother Nature. Exploring the unknown has always been a true passion in my life and now, more than ever, I realize how important it is to take care of our planet, our people and every living thing we share it with.”
