Taylor Swift set for first Woman of the Decade honor

Taylor Swift will receive the inaugural Woman of the Decade honor at the upcoming Billboard’s Women in Music gala.

She will be feted at the event on December 12, 2019, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles for becoming “one of the most accomplished musical artists of all time”.

The news comes as Swift prepares to accept the Artist of the Decade gong at the American Music Awards on Sunday (December 24, 2019).

Alanis Morissette and Nicki Minaj will also be saluted at the prizegiving, alongside Brandi Carlile and Roc Nation chief operating officer Desiree Perez.

New mom Morissette has been named the recipient of the 2019 Icon Award, while rapper Minaj will take home the Game Changer award after becoming the first woman to rack up 100 appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Country star Carlile will receive the Trailblazer award.

Last year’s Rising Star honoree, Hayley Kiyoko, will host the show, which highlights the most powerful female artists and executives in the industry.
