What is it about Taylor Swift? She has a reputation of being the most popular girl and BFF to everyone in young Hollywood. And yet, she seems to have about as many feuds as Kanye West in Tinseltown. This year it seemed every time you turned around, someone had a beef with the mega pop-star. Check out her five biggest feuds this year and let’s all keep a finger crossed she can leave them all behind when we step into 2017!
Technically Kanye West started beef with Taylor Swift when he stormed the stage and stole her acceptance speech shine at the 2009 MTV VMAs. At the 2015 MTV VMAs the pair called a public truce and formed a friendship with each other. It seemd for a time that everything was right in the world. Of course this couldn't last forever and Kanye dropped, "Famous" at a New York Fashion Week event which contains the line, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that bitch famous.” Taylor's camp immediately jumped to her defense and Kanye went on a rant about how he spoke to Taylor about the line, got her consent and the blessing of his wife, Kim Kardashian-West. Taylor then turned around made a pointed speech while accepting Album of the Year at the Grammy's, which was obviously directed at Kanye.
"As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there — there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame."
Doubt we'll ever see these two hugging anytime soon.
After Taylor made a public spectacle of being uber offended by Kanye's lyrics, his wife Kim Kardashian-West revealed in an interview with GQ that she had proof of Taylor consenting to be named on the track. Kim followed up a few weeks later with a series of Snapchat videos showing the call between Kanye and Taylor, which proved she consented to using her name in the song. This spawned the #KimExposedTaylorTaylorParty on Twitter. Taylor responded on Instagram that she, “would very much like to be excluded from this narrative.” Taylor stopped responding and Kim ended up having the last word telling Billboard, "I just wanted to protect my husband. I saw him getting a lot of shit … It wasn’t even about a look or anything, or to have this feud — it was like, ‘OK, here’s the truth.’ Done. Let’s all move on. I feel like I don’t want to talk about her anymore.” LOL.
Demi Lovato had more than a few reasons for calling out Taylor Swift in 2016. First there was the $250,000 she gave Kesha to help pay for her legal battle with Dr. Luke. Tweeting, "Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed." Demi continued to check Taylor over the course of 2016, by calling her out for preaching feminism, but not following through in action. She took Kim Kardashian's side after Kim leaked the phone call between Kanye West and Taylor about using Tay's name in his song, "Famous," and publicly denounced Taylor for forming a squad of girls that projects a false beauty standard. She rounded out the year by standing up for Katy Perry
, telling Glamour magazine, "I think that having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that's not women's empowerment." Yeah, Demi is not a fan and never will be.

The feud that will never end! The former besties turned enemies (they skipped the frenemy part), have a friendship fracture so deep, there's no hope for repair. Following Taylor's swipe at Katy with her "Bad Blood" song, Katy tweeted, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing..." The feud carried through 2015 and into this year when Katy responded to a fan on Twitter that she would collaborate with Taylor if she apologized. Well, we all know that hasn't happened, especially after Katy tweeted a video of herself dancing to Kanye West's "Famous." #Bloop
What started out as an amicable split soon turned nasty when Calvin Harris (and the rest of the world) found out Taylor had seamlessly moved on and into the arms of Tom Hiddleston
just three weeks after breaking up with Calvin. Gone was his break up tweet, which said, “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.” followed by unfollowing Taylor on social media, blocking her "Swifties," and her brother Austin. So much for them ever being friends, but we're sure to hear all about it on her next album.
