Thomas Rhett will be the first act to perform on iHeartRadio’s new weekly Living Room Concert streaming series on Wednesday (April 29, 2020).

Bosses at the radio group announced the launch of The iHeartRadio Living Room Concert Series Presented by State Farm shows on Monday, which will feature performances from top acts with the aim of bringing Americans together.

Each episode will raise funds for a nominated charity, with Thomas’s gig on Wednesday benefiting the Feeding America non-profit.

During the concert, Thomas plays Be a Light, a song which was originally released last month with additional vocals from Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Hillary Scott and Chris Tomlin, for the MusiCares charity’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.

According to Variety, during his performance, the country star describes his thinking when penning the track.

“I wrote this song on the road last year with a few of my buddies,” he explains. “We really had no idea what was going to come of the song, and when all this stuff started happening in the world with this pandemic, we thought, ‘What a time to put out a song that can spread some light.”

The weekly music event will stream on iHeartRadio’s YouTube Channel at 7 pm EST and be broadcast across iHeartRadio stations across the U.S. at 7 pm. local time.
