Jacques Bermon Webster II, a.k.a. Travis Scott, is a Houston rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.

In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Travis Scott revealed where he got his stage name from by saying: “My uncle is named Travis and Kid Cudi is, like, one of my favorite artists of all time, and his real name is Scott Mescudi. And my uncle’s friends call him Scott too, so it just kinda worked out like that… my two superheroes.”

Travis Scott is a triple threat: rapper, writer, producer

Travis Scott has been topping the charts since the 2015 release of his debut album Rodeo. The single “Antidote” peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 on December 26, 2015. “Antidote” remained on the Hot 100 chart for 26 weeks.

Since his debut album, Travis has released 2 more full length albums Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight and ASTROWORLD plus more many collab albums and EPs.

His song “SICKO MODE” from ASTROWORLD featuring Drake peaked at #1 on The Billboard Hot 100 chart; the song remained on the chart for a whopping 52 weeks.

His more recent collabs include:

Franchise” with Young Thug, M.I.A., and Future which was performed at Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Vol 2. Show (now streaming on Amazon Prime Video)

Wash Us In The Blood” featuring Kanye West

TKN” featuring Rosalia where you can hear him sing in Spanish (ooh la la)

and “THE SCOTTS” featuring one of his favorite artists, Kid Cudi

Travis Scott’s music has also been featured on movie and TV series soundtracks including The Fate of the Furious with “Go Off”, Game of Thrones with “Power is Power”, and Tenet with “The Plan.” Travis Scott actually accidentally revealed that he secretly wrote music for Christopher Nolan’s new spy epic Tenet in an interview with GQ magazine.

Travis Scott collabs like no other rapper

Travis Scott has collaborated with many brands and companies over the last few years.

In April 2020, he broke the record for views when his virtual Astronomical concert on the video game Fortnite attracted 12.3 million viewers(!!). Read more about the record-breaking 15 min. gig here

Another collab in 2020 was with McDonalds. His $6 Cactus Jack meal: a Quarter Pounder burger with cheese, pickles, bacon, and onion, medium fries with BBQ sauce, and a Sprite launched on September 8, 2020. A week after his meal launched, Travis Scott was fined over a large crowd at McDonalds x Cactus Jack event

In October 2020, Travis Scott announced that he was joining the PlayStation team as a Strategic Creative Partner to promote the PlayStation 5 console. They released special merch (merchandise), which includes a previously unseen version of Nike Dunk Lows. Travis also unveiled an unboxing video of the PlayStation 5 console. Watch it below.

Travis Scott isn’t the first celebrity to create an alcoholic drink. We’ve been seeing celeb collabs and personal creations in the beverage industry for a while now. Shay Mitchell’s Onda Sparkling Tequila, Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley’s Brother’s Bond Bourbon, Julianne Hough and Nina Dobrev’s Fresh Vine Wine, are just a few that have released in the last year.

Travis Scott gives back

In November 2020, Travis Scott announced a new charity foundation and scholarship program, the Cactus Jack Foundation. 

The Cactus Jack Foundation empowers and enriches the lives of youth by providing access to education and creative resources to ensure long term success.

On December 23rd, 2020, Travis hosted a holiday toy drive in his home city of Houston. Cactus Jack Foundation joined Mayor Sylvester Turner to stage the event in the Sunnyside Park neighborhood, where Travis Scott grew up, and handed out presents, free meals, Christmas trees, and personal protective equipment in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Travis Scott’s ex and baby mama Kylie Jenner along with their daughter Stormi Webster were in attendance at the toy drive.

These lyrics from “SICKO MODE” came after his ex, Kylie Jenner, received her billionaire status and landed the cover of Forbes magazine.

Kylie Jenner gave birth to their daughter Stormi Webster on February 1 2018.

Although the makeup mogul and rapper are not together anymore, they still make Stormi a priority and are “like best friends.” Kylie and Travis topped the most popular celebrity couples list in July 2020, following their split in October 2019.
