Update: Details Emerge About Whitney Houston’s Final Hours

Whitney HoustonUpdate: Details have been added to the devastating mystery of Whitney Houston’s untimely death. People reports that Houston was found “underwater” in the hotel bathtub by a member of her personal staff. Her staff members pulled her out of the tub and then called hotel security. This new detail adds to previous speculation that the singer’s cause of death may be drowning.

NBC New York also reports that Houston’s funeral services will take place later this week in her birthplace: Newark, New Jersey.

Earlier: Just this Saturday, the world lost one if its most talented performers, Whitney Houston. And as we mourned, officials in Los Angeles have begun an investigation into the cause of singer’s death. However, it will be another six to eight weeks before we can know the cause of death according to a statement from a Los Angeles coronor official.

The details released thus far include that she was found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and that there were no visible signs of trauma. Rumors are swirling that the singer passed away from drowning and that prescription or illegal drugs were involved, but officials offered no comment on those possiblities. As far as the rumor that Houston’s daughter was barred from the room, officials said the rumor was simply untrue.

And while it may seem necessary to dig up every detail about the beloved singer’s death, it can’t make the truth of her passing any less upsetting. She was a musical force to be reckoned with and no matter what her final hours were like, she will be missed and remembered fondly.
