Weisz to Play Jackie Kennedy for Aronofsky?

According to the Hollywood Insider blog, Rachel Weisz is gearing up to play Jacqueline Kennedy in Jackie, a spec script about the immediate days following President Kennedy’s assassination. Weisz’s fiancée, Darren Aronofsky, will direct and produce.

Also producing is Aronofsky’s producing partner Scott Franklin and their Protozoa Pictures. 

Steven Spielberg had been said to be involved in some manner, but HI reports that is not the case. CAA has put together a package that they are now shopping to the major studios, although the agency did not confirm this to HI.

Noah Oppenheim’s script takes place over the four days between Kennedy’s assassination and his burial.
