Nielsen estimated Wednesday that 63 percent of the television audience — about 60.5 million viewers — tuned into coverage of the terrorist attacks Tuesday night. NBC drew the most viewers, averaging a 14.7 rating and a 20 share during primetime. ABC was second with a 12.0/17, followed by CBS with an average 10.2/14. Viewer interest peaked between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m., with the networks pulling a 67 share during that half-hour.
