Aaliyah’s brother ’emotional’ working on singer’s waxwork with Madame Tussauds

Aaliyah’s brother and mother were left “emotional” after working with Madame Tussauds on a waxwork of the late singer.
The figure, which sees Aaliyah in the leather pants and metallic bra from her 2000 Try Again video, was unveiled at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas on Wednesday (21Aug19), with the star’s brother Rashad Haughton in attendance.
Speaking about his involvement in the creation of the waxwork, Rashad told Vibe.com that the Madame Tussauds team gave him “unprecedented access” to help make it as lifelike as possible.
“I was involved in the process from the inception of the project,” he explained. “The team at Madame Tussauds welcomed a collaborative effort in choosing the pose and look of my sister’s figure. They made sure my mother and I were comfortable and supported through an amazing but understandably emotional process.”
Aaliyah was just 22 years old when she died in a plane crash on 25 August, 2001.
