Aaron Carter endorses Donald Trump, faces Twitter backlash

Singer Aaron Carter faced a huge backlash from followers on Twitter.com after announcing his support for controversial Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The pop star, 28, made his political tendencies clear on Saturday (27Feb16) as he took to social media to endorse the real estate tycoon and reality TV boss.
“Does America want to have a president who FOLLOWS or someone who leads? I vote For @realdonaldtrump,” Aaron wrote.
The criticism began almost immediately, and the singer was quick to defend his views on Trump’s policies: “Some of the things Donald says I don’t agree with but some I do. It is what it is,” he wrote, clarifying that he does not agree with the billionaire entrepreneur’s tough approach to immigration.
“Good thing I live in America and I have the right to my own opinion such as a lot of my NON supporters have for me at times… ” he replied to his critics.
“People look for anything and any chance they can to hate me for something it’s always SOMETHING I fight back and for myself not changing… I don’t EXPECT anything! I DONT (sic) support the gay marriage ban or the immigration stuff but business man Trump I do.”
The younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has faced serious scrutiny of his social media accounts in recent years. In 2014, he revealed that he still had feelings for former flame Hilary Duff, and sent out a series of lovestruck tweets at the end of last year (15) about a broken relationship.
“Everything i say gets so twisted and judged by many people all the time, it’s outlandish,” Aaron wrote at the time. “love is everything i stand for as well as… expressing myself and being as open as i can with myself, i get judged on a daily and that’s OK this is my life and my feelings.”
