Actress Louise Plowright dies

British actress Louise Plowright has died, aged 59.
The stage and TV star passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, it was announced on Tuesday (01Mar16).
After studying acting at the Bristol Old Vic theatre school alongside Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy star Mark Strong, Louise found fame as brash hairdresser Julie Cooper in British soap opera EastEnders.
She made her West End debut in 1999 originating the role of Tanya in Mamma Mia!, the musical based upon the songs of Abba.
A career on the London stage starring in musicals including Oklahoma!, Wicked and Follies was cut short by her 2012 cancer diagnosis.
In 2015, a fundraising campaign raised more than $209,000 (£150,000) to help with her cancer care.
A statement about her passing posted on Facebook.com read: “Dear wonderful supporters of Louise. I am so sorry to have to let you know that an hour ago we lost Louise to that horrid disease. All of her family were with her.
“The world has lost a truly special person, prodigiously talented, and a friend to all. Can I thank all of you who joined us in this battle and who helped Louise to have hope.”
