Actress Maria Luisa Alcala dies

Mexican actress/director Maria Luisa Alcala has died, aged 72.
The star passed away in her sleep on Sunday (21Feb16), her representative has confirmed.
Alcala rose to fame in hit TV comedy El Chavo del Ocho in 1974, and went on to appear in El Chapulin Colorado, Cachun Cachun ra ra!, and sitcom Dr. Candido Perez.
She was later known for her work in the telenovelas Esmeralda and La usurpadora, and she turned director for 1986 action drama La Alacrana and 1990 comedy film Investigador privado… muy privado, Violacion, while she also forged a career for herself as a radio host in her native Mexico.
