Aidan Turner won’t be stripping off for new Poldark

Aidan Turner has dashed the hopes of women worldwide by revealing he won’t be stripping off in the upcoming series of Poldark.
The 33-year-old actor has become a household name through his role as Ross Poldark in the BBC adaptation of Winston Graham’s The Poldark Novels. Notable scenes include one which saw Poldark doing a spot of shirtless scything in the first series, while the second saw him once again lose his top while mining.
However, the third season won’t see Aidan lose his clothes, apart from one scene where he sleeps with his shirt off.
“Am I keeping my clothes on? I think the clothes stay on this year. Maybe there’s some topless sleeping,” he told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “I swear to God I can’t remember the clothes come on and off.”
Despite the lack of shirtless Aidan scenes, BBC bosses have decided to enlist the help of two new heartthrobs, played by Harry Richardson and Tom York, to keep viewers happy.
The pair will be joining the cast as Poldark’s wife Demelza’s (Eleanor Tomlinson) brothers Drake and Sam, and have already been hitting the gym in a bid to get into shape for any scenes that require them to bare their muscles.
Harry told the publication: “More than one of us get our top off! I’m so ready for all the attention. I don’t think anyone can compete with Aidan, let’s be honest.”
And when asked if he had increased his workout sessions, Tom added: “Absolutely, every day.”
Despite Aidan previously revealing he was growing tired of having to go shirtless in Poldark, he also admitted losing his top for the scything scene was actually his concept.
“It was never in the script that he takes his top off – it just made sense to me,” he told Radio Times magazine. “That’s the worst thing about it. It was my b**ody idea.”
The scene drew a huge nine million viewers when it aired in the U.K., and images of his impressive physique went viral on social media.
